It was four o’clock. Mable could tell because the sun was slowly sinking though the clouds, lighting them up as a pastel pink. She had been lying under her favourite oak tree for a while now, since just after lunch. There was nothing better to do than to relax in the park and watch people pass by on their evening stroll.
Glanced over to the lake; the water shimmering now with the reflection of the sun overhead. The glistening water reminded her of when she decided to swim in it, the icy cold water creeping into her bones. Now that she had dried off, she was happy she could spend the rest of her day quietly basking in the warmth from the sun.
As the sky began to darken, Mabel grabbed her bag and stood up, stretching her legs after sitting there for so long. No one was in the park anymore and she quietly started running back to her home. She slipped though the small gap in the fence that she always comes though and headed deep into the forest. The undergrowth was quite tidy, only a few bushes here and there and that’s what she loved most about this area: it was easy to get everywhere and you didn’t have to climb over anything to get to your desired destination.
The first signs of stars had appeared in the sky as she reached her house. Mabel lived in a small tree house, one discarded by humans many years ago. She found it empty, and when no one came back to claim it, she took it as her own and managed to clean it up. Now, it looked better than before, and Mabel put all her possessions in it.
She walked in and put her bag down. It was getting late and she was getting hungry. But something moved in the corner of her eye, and she spun around and looked down at her bag. Surprised, she leapt backwards, and tripped over. A snake was making its way out of her bag and onto the floor. Her fur was ecstatic, but soon calmed down when she realised the snake couldn’t harm her. It was a small one anyone, green with a few white stripes and yellow eyes. She cautiously approached it and decided to have a go at picking it up.
“How will I found out your gender?” She jokingly said out loud.
“Doesn’t matter, you’re mine now, and you shall be called Winnie!” Winnie flicked their tounge but done no harm to Mabel, and that is when she decided to keep Winnie as her companion.

Personality :
Mabel come across as quite a quiet girl at first, just minding her own business and getting on with what she has to do. She hardly gets into people’s way on purpose, but if she does by accident she will ensure that she is forgiven. When you first meet her, she doesn’t really show her personality through actions or the way she talks, as she prefers strangers or very distant friends not to know that much about her. This may sound silly, but she just doesn’t want people she doesn’t know to know stuff about her.
After being around her for a while, she loosens up and will talk freely towards you. She is mostly laid back, but is willing to go on an adventure or two from time to time.
Mabel isn’t one that usually up for flirting or romance, but can blush very easily if you say something nice about her. Her usual reaction would be to hide away shyly, which normally makes her very quiet for quite some time as she thinks about what the person said.
Jealousy is something that takes over Mabel’s mind quite a lot, whether it’s of someone or something. It’s mainly people who she gets jealous of, which puts her in a bad mood. She has been told to lighten up sometimes, which can make matters worse and make her annoyed. When she becomes a grump like this, it’s best to leave her be and move away before she can start directing anger to you.
Some may say that Mabel is quite innocent, but don't let her large eyes fool you, she's nothing of the sort. She knows how to play the game, and may even cheat sometimes, but it's something you just have to go with because it takes a lot to change her mind!
