Mood-Dogs
or more commonly called Moodogs, are a newly domesticated species
Why are they called Mood-dogs?
Well, that’s because of a particular feature they all have. All Moodogs have markings on their backs that change colors and reflect their emotions. Their eye colors reflect what mood they are in, while the markings on their backs reflect the mood they want to be seen. For example; The Moodog is really upset and sad so their eyes are blue, but it doesn’t want others to know that so it acts happy and the markings on its back are Purple.
However, a blind Moodogs eyes will be white or light gray. But it's mood-markings will reflect its true motions. If it attempts to change the color of its mood-markings, it will just go through various colors then settle back on the Moodogs actual emotion color.
They can also have complex emotions. For example; A Moodog is about to meet another Moodog or meet its new owner (you). It may be Excited but nervous at the same time. In this case, its colors may swirl or have a gradient of Purple (excited) and Turquoise (Nervous).
But they can change the colors of the markings at will. So, maybe a Moodogs just likes the color blue but isn’t sad’ then it would display the color blue.
Here’s a cheat sheet of Moodog colors.
