Another concept sketch for my unnamed specie! qoq I'm thinking of calling them Snoodles tho so that's what they'll be called for now hehe (credit to wendigo. for the fantastic name! <3 I'm likely going to keep the name too bc I'm getting attached to that wo ah )
Anyway, a really crappy sketch I know I know ( i cant skeleton //sobs/ ). c': But anyway, I wanted to expand further on their skeletal structure for their head in particular -
1-While they do not have mouthes or nostrils, they still do have jaws in their skeletal system. When attacked by a predator, a Snoodle will be sure to intentionally get the beak-like part (colored in red) to be clawed/bitten off by the predator - allowing them to then open up their internal jaw to give the predator the worst possible bite they can give. It is quite a terrible thing to happen - though Snoodles have regenerative abilities that allow for the beak-like part of its skeleton to form again after being torn off within a short time period of a week.
2- Speaking of "worst bite", Snoodles - as fluffy and hug-able as they are - give a very nasty bite once the beak part of their skeletal system has been removed. They are not venomous, but they are magical creatures! (I mean,,,, how could you do anything without a proper mouth to eat and breathe?? >:0 ) Their bites are known to leave a burning sensation in the aggressor's internal body - diverting them heavily while the Snoodle can get away. The bites are not fatal, but the effects are known to last for around 24 hours and cause severe pains. In other words, tearing the beak part of a Snoodle off is like clicking a self-destruct button (though it isn't very harmful for the Snoodle hehe). Don't hurt a Snoodle and everyone will be fine <3
3- They have large eye sockets! Their eyes may look smaller on the actual Snoodle, but in general - they play a very significant role in their lives. A blind Snoodle cannot live long for the fact that they need their eyes to live (much like a heart).
4- (i cant do bones woa h) Snoodles are incredibly flexible with their spines! Much like a snake, in fact.
5- Behind that thick skull, there's a reasonably sized brain and a sac which retains the dampness of the Snoodle's eyes. As long as its eyes are wet, it should still be alive. With that being said, Snoodles are capable of living in water as well as land. When they live on land, however, it is necessary for them to at least dip their head into a water source once a month.

(notes ;; While having that snoot torn off hurts the Snoodle, opening its pseudo-jaws afterwards does not hurt. Their pseudo-jaws give quite a nasty pain when they bite, however. They have no tongue and their pseudo-jaws do not allow the Snoodle to take in physical food. uvu )
- Facial |
(notes ;; Snoot is a term to refer to the nose of a snake. In this case, the term refers to the top of the Snoodle's 'muzzle' of where a nose would be if they had one~ )
