How do they cope with not being able to hear?: He's very sensitive to air currents and his sense of touch and smell are heightened, so it's always been difficult to sneak up on him. He's succeeded as a war companion because of this, but as he's now a guard, he uses his unique ability to simply have an excuse for others to not bother him while on the job. He can read lips very well, however, but he can't swim in deep water because the pressure in his ears is unbearable. High altitudes irrate him as well for the same reason.
