Pig-headed and quick-tempered, Maudred is one Arkin you don't want to rile up. He is a brash decision maker and prefers to jump into action rather than use a strategy. Brave in the face of danger and bold enough to chase adventure, Maudred loathes laziness. He can't lay still for more than a moment and pities those who do.
Maudred is quick to make friends and whilst he would share a laugh with them, he would never truly trust them. His inability to trust causes rifts in friendships and often or not he jumps from "friend" to "friend" quickly. He struggles to connect with others on an emotional level and can make ignorant remarks at all the wrong times.
Song that reminds you of them and why ;
Headstrong - Trapt
This song instantly reminded me of Maudred because the lyrics mirrored his personality. To narrow down what I mean, I have selected three examples from the song.
In the first verse the line 'a different motive in your eyes and now I'm out' matches his inability to hold friendships as they discover the true Maudred, distanced and untrusting.
The chorus of the song repeats the same words for a couple of lines however the first two lines, "back off I'll take you on,
headstrong to take on anyone', reflected his temper and Maudred would not be one to hold back his anger. If an Arkin angered him, he would surely snap and 'take on anyone' in a heartbeat.
Finally in the third verse of the song, it goes on to say 'that's how you play, I guess you'll get through every night' which I feel nicely sums up Maudred on a whole. His temper, his adventurous streak and inability to trust all add up to him just getting by with life. Whilst he doesn't have a 'bad' life Maudred surely is missing out on other elements of it such as love and a sense of belonging.
Also being a rock song, the quick and heavy beat matched the same sort of mood I envision him in.
