Backstory;; epidemic, also known as demi, is quiet. he stays alone, brooding and grooming all day. demi doesn't care for any other creatures, but he's always accompanied by an owl. he lives in an abandoned lab and studies what notes were left behind by the scientists. if he were to describe himself in 3 human words, they would be bold, stoic, and wise. he is able to read almost any language he comes across and understand it easily, the only exceptions being Chinese and Russian. he excels in science and math, always experimenting with different chemicals. he never indulges himself in petty desires, such as happiness. he'd rather keep himself attached to cruel reality and, unbeknownst to himself, he makes everything more depressing than it is. never does demi realise the good in the world. he doesn't see the good or the happy. all he sees is the sad and the ugly.

awaking from a deep slumber, epidemic was shocked to find himself with company. the beast in front of him looked at him and hooed. "what a noise..." he thought to himself in his language, untucking his wings slightly as he stalked toward the animal. demi moved slowly in fear of frightening the creature, only for it to hop towards him and onto his shoulder. "well i guess that's that." he shrugged, laughing a bit. he moved to a book of birds, looking up what the thing on his shoulder was. "an owl... known for it's unmoving eyes and silenced flying..." epidemic read aloud. he turned his head to the owl on his shoulder and nodded a bit. "you'll be staying with me, then." he shrugged and went back to reading, learning about the owl and smiling to himself. he read for the whole night, waiting till the sun started to rise to turn his lights off and curl up with his new and only friend. "goodnight, evan."
