For those of you who don't know, one of the barns at Classy Lane Stables, a Racehorse training facility in Puslinch, Ontario caught fire last night at about 11pm. 43 racehorses perished, and among them, Apprentice Hanover, a 5 year old with over $1 million in winnings. Many of the horses weren't insured, which only adds to the total damage of the fire, which is estimated around 4-6 million.
One of my stepdad's friends is a firefighter, and he was one of the first ones on the scene. The fire took over 8 hours to put out.
Afterwards, they had to go through the barn, to see if they could find the cause of the fire, and he said it was one of the most disturbing things he had ever seen.
All those poor horses :c
I give my deepest and most sincere condolences to the owners, trainers, and anyone else associated with the horses, who have experience a great loss, one I have never and hopefully never have to experience.
If you want to help, they have a GoFundMe up here<3
