St. Patrick's Day the Irish way!

St. Patrick's Day is in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland, whom is St. Patrick. He is credited for bringing Christianity to Ireland. In Ireland to celebrate they cook bacon and cabbage to eat. Parades are held in many cities and towns through all of Ireland. The only businesses you will find open are the Pubs and the Chemist's (What they call drug stores). To celebrate this holiday Irish men will dress up in ties and sport coats and women in nice dresses, pinned on the lapel of their outer coats are fresh cut shamrocks. This is how they "wear green" rather than what many people in America and some other places do by painting their faces, wearing plastic leprechaun hats and things that say "Kiss me I'm Irish!". St. Patrick's day is truly a special day in Ireland to celebrate! Many tourists come to Ireland on St. Patrick's Day for the parades.
