Cassandra the Wanderer

As they entered the candle lit library and sound of scattering footsteps interrupted the silence.

"Wh-Who's there!" said a nervous squeaky voice.

Cassandra and Saoirse squinted in the dim hallway to see who was approaching. A young gentlemen mouse hurried out of the shadows.

"Excuse our sudden interruption. We came here looking for a book." Soarise said.

The small well-dressed mouse looked concerned. "No one ever comes to this library anymore. After the Darklings took over, the woods around here have become dangerous. However did you manage?"

"We came here looking for a book not a backstory of your own." Saorise's whiskers twitched in annoyance.

A forlorn expression appeared on the mouse's face.

Cassandra gave Saorise a look."Forgive her for her rudeness, we've been on a long and stressful journey to get here. Do you, by any chance have a book titled 'Chambers' ?"

"I believe I do. Do you know who wrote it?"

Cassandra shook her head.

"I'll take a look." the mouse replied.

With that, he scattered off.
