What do you guys think about this? The actual SS thread would be posted in the forums, not the oekaki, so the mods don't have to worry about the oekaki board being spammed. :) This post is just to get an idea of the support for a SS.
If you guys are wondering how it'll work, here's a little summary. There will be a form for people to fill out and post. Because this is an art Secret Santa, it will ask for a character (or two) for your SS to draw for you. Then you can make a few small requests about the piece, but nothing too major. I want the artist to have plenty of free reign. =) Shading would be required of all pieces (possibly? I'm trying to maintain quality standards), but a background would not be. The artist can choose to add a background or not. Then you'll have to state what you can draw (canines, humans, domestic cats, big cats, deer, ect) and whether or not you can draw complex designs; this is so that you can be paired with someone else whose character suits your abilities! =D
The deadline for forms will be in mid-December, and very shortly afterward Secret Santas will be assigned. Users will be PMed with the username of the person they are drawing art for. On Christmas, they'll send their art to their assigned user. :)
I'm thinking the following for deadlines:
- Form deadline: Friday, November 11 -- I'm choosing this date so that I can assign Secret Santas on a weekend, when I don't have school, and so that users have a full two weeks to finish their piece in case the holidays get busy. ;)
Art delivery deadline: Friday, January 1 -- Users may send their art starting on December 25 but have a full week to do so in case they can't send it on Christmas.
I'd love to hear what you all think of this, and I'm open to suggestions!
