Prologue




A cat with a beautiful silver pelt walked up to a puddle and took a nice, long drink.
She slightly opened her eyes to see her face in the puddle. She was outlined in a glowing
blue due to her being in starclan. She sighed and stared at the puddle, remembering her
kits.

"Birdtail, come here" a cat from behind her meowed to her "I have to discuss something with you".
The cat padded to a cave nearby and flicked her tail as she entered.

Birdtail followed the cat into the cave "Who are you" she meowed as she caught up.

"I'm Brightgaze, formally a medicine cat from shadowclan" Brightgaze stopped in her tracks and sat down
in a room with light shining brightly in it, though there was no entrance for light to come through. A
mysterious outline of a fluffy calico kitten danced in the light.

Birdtail walked up to the cat and tried prodding it with a claw, but the claw met nothing
but air. "Who is this cat".

"This cat is the destiny of the clans" Brightgaze blinked and walked over to Birdtail.
Brightgaze whispered in Birdtail's ear "Her name, is Dixie".

Chapter 1




Wind battered against the window as Dixie slept peacefully snuggled up by her mother with her
brother, Jay. Not long ago had they been born and Jay has already opened his eyes, while I haven't.
He says I'm missing out on all the fun and everything is so colorful, but I don't believe him.

Dixie heard a loud bang outside and the window next to her shattered. Her brother woke with a start
and shrieked "Were gonna die"! Dixie squinted her eyes open for the first time as she felt chilly breeze
run through her soft fur. Jay was running around like it was the end of the world. Her mother Willow
stood up and Dixie fell on her back, feeling colder than ever without her mothers warmth.

"Jay, calm down, its just a storm" she meowed "I will go wake our owner". Willow walked out of
the room and disappeared into the hallway. Just then, Dixie opened her eyes, big and round.
She struggled up, her legs wobbling as she stood.

"I'm standing" she meowed with happiness clattered in her voice. She saw the low window and
climbed up on it. "I wonder whats out there" she meowed her eyes filled with wonder as she saw the garden.

"I wouldn't go out there" Jay spoke "Mommy said its dangerous, she talks of badgers, foxes, and even
big, mean wild cats that eat bones".

"Don't worry I will be back soo-" the wind caught Dixie's fur, flinging her in the wind. She could her Jay
yowling as she was carried off into the wind. "Help me" she shrieked before she hit the ground with a thud.
Dixie looked around in terror as she laid on her side, her body cold as ice. Where am I?

Chapter 2




Dixie laid in terror as the memory of Jay yowling to her came to mind.
"I wanna go home" she complained and looked around for shelter but there was
nothing but vast moorland. She struggled to stand up but kept getting carried off
in the wind. "I will just have to find my way back home" Dixie said with pride but
nervousness was flooding over her.

Dixie walked on, going the opposite way she faced when she was blown away.
"It is s-so cold" she complained as another boom filled the air and she shrieked,
now dashing to a small hole in the ground. "Its nice and cozy in here, I will just
spend the night in here". Something furry rubbed up against her. "Do you mind"
Dixie spat and pushed the furry object away but it kept pushing her out of the hole
as she was no match to the strength. She caught a glimpse of the animal whom was
a rabbit.

"Fine, I'll get out" Dixie grunted and snuck out of the hole into the blazing wind.
She looked across the moor and saw no other sign of life nor shelter. She traveled
across the moor, running into tree stumps, tripping over roots, and once being
attacked by a bee and being stung, but Dixie pulled out the stinger herself.

She came across a small cave which has no sign of life in it. "Better than nothing"
Dixie grumbled and walked into the cave. She laid on the hard, cold stone floor and
darkness fell over her as she fell into deep sleep.

Chapter 3




Dixie woke on her side, feeling coldness on half her body, and
half soothed with sunlight. The sunlight soon fought away the coldness
and she woke, stretching her paws outward. Dixie stared outside the
cave and sighed, missing the sweet scent of her mother. She had not
gotten a clear look of her mother yet, but she was determined to find her.
She let out a shriek of sadness and stepped out of the den, only seeing
vast field and pine trees.

She entered into the pine trees, the pines prickling her paws as they sat
upright. She smelled no scent, or sight of life. All she heard was the
faint rustle of grass under her paws. She walked on and saw something
move out of the corner of her eye. Her head suddenly turned to the side
and she noticed a rogue cat wearing a scratched and battered leather
collar.
