This is a big WIP
This adopt is NOT going to be here, i will request the deletion of this entire page once i get everything situated
ill have anew better and finished adopt lines presented publicly later so stay in tune
the adopt is originally .psd file, that is still available as adopts on the unofficial page!
Theres some things i need to finish with the .psd files, and now i have to do ALL the oekaki versions!! please be patient as i have FIVE different drawings i need to make x-x (its actually 7 if you separate each kit image as its own)
feel free to mark or comment and stay updated with progress as you wish ^^
Okay! So I know there's like a rule about oekaki and .psd files, and this adopt is open to two options
Since it was originally made as a .psd file, those who can make .psd file adopts may do so, and for now, people who are able to draw oekaki lines may do that instead as an alternative! I'm drawing the oekaki specific line but it'll probably take me some time so be patient as I don't have things like my pen pressure x-x im working off of a laptop pad
(Just a note as I realized this could be locked if I didn't clarify)

About Faenine
Faenine as an extremely smart species that was mis-named -like the "red panda"- as people had originally thought that they were related to that of the canine family, however it has been discovered that they are actually more related to sheep, as strange as it may seem. Faenine do have some canine mixed into their line somewhere, as they are mainly dog colors, sheep only have basic solids, so they had to have gotten it somewhere.
They use forms of hypnotism or illusions as a way to hide themselves, catch prey, and cause others to disregard their behaviors.
The strongest a faenine's tricks can reach any on lookers, is within a 1 mile radius, what animal they take shape of depends on their location and what the leading pair orders when they travel, but some have individual preferences and will use them when they are alone.
Faenine are immune to hypnotism from each other whether in the same scorpion or not. The only thing that all faenine stay away from taking shape as is birds, since faenine can only change what they look like and not their movements, they have no purpose of changing into something that can fly since they cant.
They live in deep forests and jungles, and some even inhabit labyrinths, however that's quite rare to find, they are extremely territorial, and travel in groups called "scorpions" because of the shape they form almost every time they move in multiples, and also because scorpion is used when referring to intelligent beings gathering together. Faenine live in tall trees, often taking over abandoned holes and making more space if they need to. Faenine lack claws, and so they rely on their jaws, teeth, and illusions, some Does with higher ranks have the ability to use spells from their pendants, especially since most Does lack strength and have a lot of speed, this gives them and advantage over the enemy.
Don't let the Faenine fool you with their mind games, they very dangerous and are one of the very slim number of species that are actually unaffected by rabies, many believe it is due to their poisonous saliva, however this is unproven.
Distinguishable Traits
(Gender/Location/Overall Species)
(Gender/Location/Overall Species)
Males and Females (Bucks & Does) have distinctions between gender that are very noticeable no matter what image they take shape of.Does
Does have a pendant that resembles a flower of either silver or gold, with a glowing gem that starts out as white, but change to the color of their scorpion when they are fitted. If a pendant is broken(Cracked, string broken, etc) some how, it could lead to the doe's death, as it is technically her life force; this pendant can be found three different ways:-a necklace(Common)
The pendant itself grows from a flower that only blooms in either a soft yellow or grey-white color called "Pailexius" [Pale-ee-sh-ee-us], it only blooms next to the tree/den of an expecting Doe, and depending how many are growing, will tell how many Doe kits she is carrying. If this flower is cut before the Kit is born, then the kit will die, as the flower is premature to ripe bloom.
-a head dress(Uncommon)
-embedded into their chest(Rare)
Does also make a very notable humming sound that is actually very attractive and distinctive between each Doe, the softer and more beautiful her humming, the more desirable she is, this is the only noise a Doe will make besides shrills of fear or danger.
Does are notably smaller in size, and are the ones more likely to have "Ear Tufts" which aren't always actual ear tufts, they can be a variety of different things:-Actual Tufts of hair(Common)
Unlike Bucks, Does do not have a distinction in rank before becoming fitted, they are practically open to adapt to whatever position their fit takes in the ranks of his scorpion, but this does not mean that their personality doesn't play a point in how they act as a role in that rank.
-Whisker-Like Material -Alone-(Common)
-Whisker Material + Tufts(Uncommon)
-Whisker Material -Bulb on end of each-(Uncommon)
-Whisker Material -Multiple bulbs each; Glowing-(Rare)
-Other (Rare/Really Rare)
Though Does do not have personality/Rank markings, they can be born with coat patterns that contain white designs, however, these designs do not change color at all during their lifetime.Bucks
Bucks have colorful markings that does can NEVER have, these markings start out white, and turn to the color of their scorpion when they are accepted into one by the lead Buck. Bucks hold the rank in their scorpions, and are normally the dominant over their fit if they have one. There's always a common marking that each Rank possesses, though the design is not exact on each buck in that rank, they are very similar.
The rank is ordered as follows:-Leader(Rare)*This Buck(/Fit) is in charge of the overall care and watch of the Scorpion*
Bucks also have what is called "Personality" Markings, these do not all appear at once at birth, as they age they gain them, and by the time they are three, these markings stop appearing. Both Personality and Rank Markings are NOT Inheritable! they are random, and unique to each faenine.
-Second Command(Rare): *This Buck(/Fit) is in charge of planning out hunts and battle tactics*
-Healer(Uncommon): *Watches over herbs of the territory and documents growth, also is in charge of medicine and helping sick and injured, normally no more than two fits in a scorpion*
-Special(Uncommon): *This varies, but mostly contains trackers and alarmers*
-Defender/Offender(Common): *Often times the ones who check boarder control, and are fighters for their Scorpion if conflicts arise*
-Hunter(Common): *This often contains both Does and Bucks, however, the difference is that Does are normally more gatherers and small prey while Bucks are the actual hunters*
-Regular Member(Common): *Normally the ones who have time to have families and will kit-sit for upper rank members if they have any.*
Fit and Rituals
What's a Fit?
A fit is a pair of Faenine, always one Buck and one Doe, they are paired for life and will not choose another if their fit dies because their bond goes beyond just the two of them, a connection is created through the first initial nip that the Buck leaves on the Doe's neck or shoulder. When her pendant becomes the color of his scorpion, something triggers to where the two of them no longer see each other as separate but as one unit. The Fitting
The fitting, is the ritual that a Buck and Doe go through as a tradition of their species:
When a kit turns two, they are walked out of the territory into a place called the roamers land on either the next full/new moon, the roamers land serves as a time where they learn how to survive on their own, and Bucks focus on honing the skill in whatever rank they were marked with from birth.
If a Buck is marked with leadership, he is given three options before leaving his birth scorpion:1) Leave into the roamers land to practice his skill, and not return until he is Fitted.
Those with other Rank Markings wait until after they are accepted into a scorpion and settled in before they ask for granted leave to find their fit.
2) join another scorpion after a month in the roamers land, only to return back after hes secure in a scorpion to find his fit.
3) leave his birth scorpion, find his fit, and start a new scorpion by gathering roamers and claiming land outside the roamer's land.
the actual ritual is an extended endurance race of tag, with the Buck chasing and the Doe running/hiding.
When a Buck searching for a fit happens upon a Doe he will either bow his head and walk away as to say he by-passes, or he will perk his ears and stretch in preparation to claim. Once the doe notices his advances, she has no choice but to run, a Buck with an interest strong enough will not stop chasing a Doe until he nips her from snout reach. As a way to test if he's worthy to claim her, she will hide and run away as long as she can, testing how strong willed he is, almost as if to make sure hes not being half-hearted. Does have really well structured bodies that make them significantly faster than bucks as a way to give them an advantage during the tag part of the ritual. The chase doesn't last longer than a week normally, and is ended when the Buck catches up and nips the Doe just deep enough on the shoulder or neck to bleed a little, but not enough to injure her. The pendant she possesses will glow and reveal the color of her new scorpion.
Sub-Species
Faenines are actually split into two groups that are significantly different from one another, their bone structures and DNA are one of the extremely small similarities these two sub-species share, another similarity is that there's no difference in ranking nor rank designs.Tree Top Dwellers
Tree Dwellers are the ones that everyone sees the most, they do come down for hunts, but they do not live on the ground, even away from home they find the closest trees to sleep in. Despite looking Heavier because of their fur, they are actually extremely light, with small bones that are almost completely hollow to help them keep their balance and ability to climb through trees.
Tree Dwellers have what seems to appear as long tails, however most of it is hair, they actually have relatively short tails much like that of sheep. They have flat foreheads, clawless toes, and are the ones that have "ear tufts"(Mainly on Does, but not limited to them alone).
They are far more territorial, because of the fact that their territory is more out in the open and easy to wander through or find
They can be:-Marble(Common)
-Dun(Common)
-Solid(Common)
-Sable -Body/Tipped-(Common)
-Tri-color(Uncommon)
-Piebald(Uncommon)
-Roan(Uncommon)
-Brindle(Rare)
-Calico(Rare)
NOTE:
a) Theres some patterns that the ground dwellers have, that would be considered rare/very rare to find on Tree Dwellers
b) Colors and patterns are still being discovered, so not all of them are listed *If you have any new color suggestions feel free to post them below*Ground Dwellers
Ground Dwellers are the stranger of the two, they have shorter more plush fur, possess sharp dew claws as well as retractable claws on their hind legs, they also have poisonous saliva but its not as potent. They normally do not get "Ear Tufts" but can have horns(between 1-4) or spikes ridging their backs (Normally rather small).
Ground Dwellers are relatively calm and more open and often share territory with varieties of other animals that need shelter, they use this as a way to help veer others away from them, and to help their numbers since they are such a small minority, they don't normally have the forces to protect themselves. In return for sheltering others, they are protected by the numbers of many creature varieties.
They can be:-Roan(Common)
-Masked(Common)
-Dun(Common)
-Solid(Common)
-Tri-Color(Common)
-Piebald(Uncommon)
-Marble(Uncommon)
-Brindle(Rare)
-Calico(Rare)

Nursery Info
Kits
Kits are normally born in ones and twos, three is possible, however it's extremely dangerous and can cause troubles for the mother and her unborn kits.
There's little difference in appearance at a young age to distinct between Tree/Ground dwellers, one thing that is however distinctive, is whether they have horns/spikes vs "ear tufts" if they have either at all
When a doe hits walking age, she is given her pendant, how it forms to her is different for every doe, the string can absorb into her and latch the pendant remaining to her chest, if the string is too short it can absorb into her head and latch the pedant to her head, or it can simply hang around her neck.Breeding
Fits NEVER breed outside of their bond, each fit pair has three breedings together
NOTE: If a fit pair is owned between two different people, its up to them to decide what happens to what breeding and who gets what kit.
