A Chinese Bird Dragon, or CBD, is a mythical creature that makes its home in the mountains and possess minor healing powers. They are extremely intelligent, resourceful, and hardy. CBDs have always been regarded as holy creatures by the locals, and there are small temples in villages dedicated to them. Townspeople leave offerings of food and small shiny trinkets, which CBDs are attracted to. In return, they will pass on information from abroad in their flights and heal what illnesses and injuries they can in the village. They are omnivores, and eat deer, berries, fruits, seeds, fish and sometimes minerals. Within their own species, Chinese Bird Dragons communicate in their own language, which sounds like an odd mixture of growls, hisses, squawks, and chirps. In addition to their healing power, they possess a gift of tongues that allows them to communicate with humans. Many CBDS are loners, but it is not uncommon for family flocks to form.
