Just a little info I wrote up for this character~
Lynn found her companion, (Your name choice here), when out in the woods for a walk. Just by chance, she happened to pin her dagger in a tree, and found out it was hollow! At first this struck her as odd, but then she remembered what this meant. A hollow tree meant a Tree Spirit. Tree Spirits are souls of deceased creatures that once had a deep connection with nature. These spirits usually sought out trees on their death bed, and died beneath one. And if they didnt make it to a tree before they died, on a rare occasion they would be carried to a tree by relatives. The creature's body would sink into the grass and the tree would absorb it. Over time, the tree would hollow out its insides and send the wood into the ground. Within this hollow space, the spirit of the deceased creature would be. Although they'd seem trapped in the living realm, they would be forever safe. The spirit would be inside a large, light greenish-pearl, inside the hollow space of the tree. This pearl is impossible to scratch, discolor, or break. If the end of the world came to be, the Tree Spirits would live on, just dormantly. But if one were to find a Tree Spirit's pearl, it has a genie in a bottle-like affect. They could hold their paw/talon down on the pearl, and it would begin to glow. Then it would morph into the creature it was in its past life and would be their's to keep. If they wanted to send them back into their pearl, they would have to put their paw on their Tree Spirit's forehead and hold it there till it began glowing and morphed back into the green pearl. Once the Tree Spirit and its new "leader" were bonded, the Tree Spirit could communicate with its leader. Lynn was excited about finding one of these. Not only would hunting be easier, but now she'd have help with her chores around the pack's camp! Lynn quickly began to stab the dagger into the tree continuously, Making a large whole in the side to see the Tree Spirit's pearl. It was a fair size, not the biggest pearl, not the smallest pearl. She quickly kicked off her empty bag and did her best to nudge the pearl out of the tree. Before it could roll down the hill, she stopped it with her paw, and ushered it into her bag. Throwing the sack over her neck, she quickly ran home to her pack.
Once home, she stopped in her tracks to take a breath from all the running she had done. But she felt the need to move quickly, not wanting her packmates to know of the pearl she found. Quickly trotting to her den, a dip in the ground with bushes growing above it for shelter. She slipped the bag over her head and off her neck, then picked it up in jaws, setting it in a small shelf-like hole in the wall of her den. She poked her head out of the entrance of her den, and pulled a long, thick, and wide piece of bark over the opening, ducking her head in right before it closed. She then turned back to the hole in the wall and pulled the pearl out of the bag, only for it to bring her muzzle straight to the ground. Uttering and ow, she sat down and left the pearl on the ground. Glancing at the roof of her den, she made sure no one was looking through the bushes. Then, looking back down at the pearl, she slowly, but firmly, pressed her paw to it. The pearl began to twitch, and steam began to rise from it as it started to glow. Lynn's good eye widened, and she drew her paw away from the pearl as it began to sink out of a pearl shape, and into the shape of a (Your creature choice here.) Letting out a yawn from being asleep, sealed in the tree for who knows how many years, it shook itself, the same steam from the pearl slightly coming off with the shake. Looking up at Lynn, the little (Your creature choice here.) waited for instruction.
Its not so much of a backstory but more so info on the Tree Spirit. But, long story short, Lynn lives in a futuristic time where humans are no more, magic has replaced technology, and the animals have become very advanced. So much so they have their own societies and know how to manufacture things they need, along with practicing magic.
I hope you like my entry ^^ Sorry for all the reading though xD
