The idea/myth/lore behind these guys is that they would find and collect the souls of sailors lost at sea, bringing them back to land to send them on their way to the afterlife. Sort of like search and rescue dogs for spirits. They are a sort of domestic jackal mix, with a long paddle-like tail for swimming and large eyes that hold the souls during their journey back to land. Each dog has their own mist color that trails from their eyes as they travel, and the mist also emanates from their mouths when they open them. They are extreamly disconnected from our world, and are usually seen just sort of floating along the shores as if they were spirits themselves.
