Ancesats (name may be changed!) are large felid creatures that originate in the spirit realm. They materialize whenever a new family is formed, and are bound to protect and advise the members until the bloodline dies out. They carry the souls of the deceased members in small glass vials around their necks, attached to collars, and can communicate with these souls and pass on messages from ancestor to descendant. They are approximately the size of a horse, and possess fluffy fur and long tails. Unbound Ancesats wear no collars and usually stay in the spirit realm, rarely appearing on Earth.
