Pen Pressure Problem

Postby Snowflakette » Fri Jul 24, 2015 1:40 am

I have a question about pen pressure.
Not long ago, I started using a tablet to do drawings on Oekaki. Today I've decided to try out pen pressure.
After installing JTablet on my computer, I opened up Oekaki and clicked on the circle next to the brush tab. It was the same and pen pressure didn't work. I went on the JTablet website and tried to do step 2 (which is testing the pressure in a Java Applet), but my computer blocked the applet, so I couldn't try it.
Can I possibly get some help on getting pen pressure to work? Thank you in advance. <3

Yes, the circle is filled, but it still did not work. I tried to reinstall JTablet as well, but I can't test it due to my computer blocking the JTablet Test Applet, and it doesn't work here either. I feel like I'm missing an important step, but I don't know which one. Thank you for the help anyways.

Hi! ^-^ I'm not very technical but my computer has been pretty temperamental with pen pressure in the past, so I might be able to help! I have a few questions though; Firstly, what browser do you use? (Chrome,Firefox, etc.) Secondly, are the drivers for your tablet up to date? Thirdly, do you know why you can't run the applet? (Like why your computer is blocking it?) And lastly, have you tried using pen pressure in any other program? If so, does it work there?

Hello! Since I live in China, I don't use Chrome or Firefox unless I use my laptop, so I use a Chinese browser or Internet Explorer. I'm pretty sure the drivers are up to date, since it's fairly new (I use a Wacom tablet if you need that information). It said the applet is blocked because my Java isn't up to date or something, but on my other computer, once I updated Java, Oekaki then stops working, so I can't update it as I'm afraid the same problem will happen again. I tried to use pen pressure in SAI, and it worked there, so I guess it's a problem about Java...?[/center]

Hm, if it works in Sai, it's probably a problem with JTablet and not your drivers. (It might be with Java, but I don't think you could run the Oekai program if that was it.) Okay, 'nother question; have you restarted your computer since downloading JTablet? Also, I don't use Internet Explorer often, but if you could find your plugins (somewhere in settings) you might be able to see if it's enabled there. (Sorry for the generalized suggestions. oAo I hope it works!)

No, I haven't restarted yet, only shutting it down when I go to sleep and stuff. I'll go find the plugins once I go home ^^ Thank you so much for the help! <3

Ooh, that might be it. You have to restart it/turn it off and on again for it to work for the first time, sometimes. If that doesn't do it I hope the plugin thing works! And no problem! <3
