Meaning/reason:
Aether is a greek deities born of Erebus (darkness) and Nyx (night). Aether is the heavenly light though, so she was created out of darkness, yet turned the world light. This mare makes me think of her because her rump is lighter and seems to be blending in with her body, like turning the black darkness into a lighter color, a happy place, like how Aether was made from darkness yet was heavenly light.

Aether was very rambunctious as a foal, trotting and bucking around the field with the other foals. She used to get in trouble, A LOT, she would hide the water buckets, and knock over the big water trough. If you had any treats in your pockets, she would in one way or another find a way to get them, and you couldn't get her to stand still if your life depended on it, and she didn't listen to commands. After a few months, she started to mellow out, she was still very active and rambunctious, but she stopped playing with the water buckets, though she continued to be quite the treat hog! When she was about a year and a half, she would finally stand still for grooming and we started teaching her basic training. Now at 4 years old she is one of the best horses to have around the farm! She's very social with the other horses, and still loves to play, but she does very well with a rider and loves to be around her owners! She is one of the fastest horses I've ever seen and when she takes off there is no stopping her! She is still very strong-willed, yet continues to mellow out more and more as she ages. I don't think we'll ever be able to truly tame her wild spirit, and we wouldn't want to, yet it's becoming increasingly clearer that she loves us as we love her and that she's truly a sweet horse at heart.
