ENTRY

Postby owl0430 » Wed Jul 08, 2015 3:15 pm

-----Main INFO--------
Nubian Sand Siren's, or NSS'S are a more land-built cousin of the siren.they do have the enchanted singing of their couisin, but they do not sink ships.they often make travelers get lost, or stranded in the desert.some even have the ability of sand-storm creation, but this is rare.their hind legs and tail are built more like that of a snow leopard, and the have the body and front legs more tiger-like.they are more built for speed, and beauty.their body shapes are built more arrow-dynamicly..they are built this way for three reasons.speed, endurance, and grace.
they can reach up to speeds those of a chetah,as their bodies are built for speed.
a nubian sand siren's fur is thin, and soft, to keep cool in the intense desert heat.
males can be up to four feet tall. females usually only reach about 2 1/2-3 feet tall.
both females and males weigh from 35-50 pounds, though the males typically weigh more.
Nubian Sand sirens come in all colors.as top predator, they do not need camoflauge.
they can however bury into the sand if threataned, but this is rare.
child NSS'S are call syras.(pronounced SEER-RUS)there are 2-4 Syras in a litter.

----Habitat and diet---
Nubian Sand Siren's live in the nubian desert of africa.often seen sitting beneath rocks, and ledges.some live on the edge of jungles at the borders of the desert, but this is not very typical.
the diet of A NSS consists of small rodents/reptilian, and bugs.sometimes even birds if possible, or anything they can get their paws on.

---behavior---
The behavior of your typical NSS can be descriped in three words.sneaky, mischeivious, and theives.they will often steall food, water, and anything shiny from sleeping travelers, or act cute to distract them while they steal.though if tamed, this may calm down a bit, (but you probably just think its calmed down) but it does not stop completely.they are caring creatures though, if you can tame them.p.s, dont take their shinies or you might find yourself being held by your shirt collar over a cliff edge.

----rankings---
the Rankings in a pack are determined by the extra objects on a NSS'S rope necklace.teeth bones are omegas, stones are betas, then cactus blossoms are the alphas.other objects have unknown rankings, though some say plants can be found entwined with the rope of a medical NSS.

(they are 2 1/2 feet tall, and 3-4 feet long.so almost your average fox i suppose.
they will eat small rodents/repitilian.they can go up to four weeks without water, and two weeks without food.
if possible, they may eat small birds.)
