They sat in the soft grass at the waters edge. "I don't want you to leave" said Ivy. "I know... I wish I didn't have to go" Bryn answered back. They say and watched the sun sink further into the water. They were on their stomachs now, and they were close together. Ivy nudged closer, and Bryn nudged closer. They lay there, as close as could be, under the moon, now reflecting off the water and causing brilliant shimmers across the lake. Moths fluttered here and there, and Ivy held out her finger. A moth crawled from the grass and onto her finger. Bryn watched, so happy that they were together... for this was the last time for a while... "Ivy, we should make a promise. A promise so that no matter what happens between us that the other one will try to fix it." Bryn said looking over at her friend. "Yes. I Promise." she said. They both knew that they would have to soon part, but it was too much to think about... to be torn apart and taken far away... They both knew it, but no one spoke as they watched as the sun disappeared and they looked at each other. Ivy’s voice was quiet, "What am I ever going to do without you? I’m a loner! No one else is there..." Bryn looked at her sadly "You’re not a loner! You have the other kids and at least they like you... and I’ll never leave you. Not fully. And it’s not like we won't ever be able to talk to each other... not like last time. I’ll get on to the site whenever I can. I’ll type you as soon as I wake up." Ivy smiled at this and moved closer to Bryn. They were completely happy. Both pressed up against the other, their warmth shared in the cool night air. They watched as the veil of night swept completely over the lake. The moon was bright, and there were a few stars out. They both knew that it was time to go... although neither of them wanted to kill this moment. Not now. "Ivy, I love you. Only in the way a sister can. This is our moment, and I’ll never forget this. We will never be truly apart." She looked into Ivy's grey green eyes. "Never, ever." she repeated. Ivy took off her bracelet and handed it over to Bryn. "Here, for when you’re away... so I’ll never leave you." Bryn accepted the bracelet with tears brimming in her eyes. She took off hers, and gave it to Ivy. "And I the same." They got up and walked away, holding hands, back to the house. As ivy got into her mothers car, she looked up at Bryn one last time. "Bye..." Bryn said as she stood in the door way. The car started to go down the drive way, and Bryn forced herself to turn, and go in. Her heart screamed and tore away, trying to stay with Ivy. Bryn's eyes grew watery, and she tried her hardest not to cry. I guess this is what happens when you spit two destined soul sisters up. They were closer than thought possible, and no one, but the two, would ever truly understand what this feeling was like. A love for each other that only true sisters could ever feel for one another.
For Graysen.
