What is a Princeling?

Princelings are a lore-rich species from a different dimension that have recently found their way to ChickenSmoothie.
Princelings have two forms: ascended and unascended.
Every Princeling begins life as an unascended. Unascended Princelings appear to be vaguely canine in appearance, with thick ruffs of fur, peculiar ears, and crowns on their rears. They are a self sufficient, intelligent, and independent species; however, find nothing but benefit from partnership with humans. Princelings can communicate with humans telepathically in this form.
