Hopefully this help a bit! I have another redline here that may be of assistance. :3 I did this assuming you wanted a wolf redline but I can change it if you'd like a dog instead! I will, however, say that it is very beneficial to know wolf anatomy because the wolf is the common ancestor of all dog breeds. There are so many breeds of dog that it is difficult to establish a standard for their anatomy! I like to use my knowledge of wolf anatomy as a base and then look up pictures of whatever dog breed I wish to draw so that I can tweak the drawing accordingly. It can take a lot of tweaking but is easier than memorizing the anatomy of all dog breeds! XD
Some anatomy stuff:
- Wolves don't have floppy ears! Those are a dog thing.
- Wolves do not always have their necks lifted up! Often when resting or running a wolf will lower its neck. This is not universal, of course, and sometimes wolves raise their necks for no particular reason.
- There is fur in a canid's ear! This includes both dogs and wolves.
- A bit of a wolf's black gums is visible at the corners of the mouth.
- The end of the mouth aligns with the eye.
- Draw angled lines for the forehead and top of the muzzle; if they intersect a little ways past/at the nose then they should be about right. Keep in mind how heavily angled the forehead is! Google a wolf profile and you'll see what I mean. And really, they should intersect very close to that muzzle!
- There's more on the other redline. :3
Once again, I hope this helps a bit and feel free to PM me with any questions you might have!
