Why?: Winter is a strong, capable stallion who takes excellent care of his mares and offspring, while teaching both all he knows. Anyhow, the pair grew up together and they were separated as yearlings (as Winter was a stallion), and Flan pined for days. Now this lovely mare wants to see her foalhood friend again and maybe even carry his foal!
Personality: Flan is a sweet girl with a fondness for peppermints, however, She is also quite the diva and will not tolerate having an inexperienced rider. She loves company and attention, but only that of experienced humans. She is a very sociable, attached girl who loves companionship and being part of the herd
Vices: Flan is afraid of the whip, and she won't tie unless it's in the crossties. Both of these are due to a traumatic experience when she was young involving a farrier, who beat her because she refused to pick up her feet, she was tied up at the time, and couldn't get away
Likes: Flan likes peppermints, hard caramel candies (Another reason she's got her name), foals, and getting groomed, she simply adores getting groomed.
Dislikes: Whips, being tied, and being ignored.
Discipline: Flan works in barrel racing and Western pleasure
Story: 'Separation' The somatic yearling raced along the fence, screaming for her companion, a colt, to be returned to her side. She and the colt, Winter Equinox, has been raised side by side for the first year of their life, and now they were being separated. The filly, Flan, was distraught over their separation. She paced along the fence once the trailer was out of sight occasionally giving a halfhearted whinny in a futile effort to bring back her companion. Flan wouldn't see her friend for years...
