Favorite Driving-Related Memory:
When I was a young colt, I never liked to be handled. Everyone thought I was untameable, and an untameable young stallion doesn't last long. That was when he came along, my human. He was young and reckless, just like me. We were a perfect match.
Soon after, he introduced me to a harness. It was bulky and all tangly, so of course, I refused to come writhing ten feet of it. After a few more tries the boy ditched the harness and instead just kept the collar, which after a little while of coaxing, I willingly stepped into.
I absolutely loved to pull from that moment on. The way it tested my strength, yet put a delicate responsibility right on my shoulders. I suppose you could say I was finally tameable.
My best memory was when he took me into town for the first time, all dressed up in that spiffy harness. I admit, being the center of attention felt nice as all the pedestrians looked at me in awe. My hooves tapped against the cobblestone, creating echoes around me.
But that was boring. Time to have fun.
Without giving any warning I leapt into a gallop, dragging the small cart behind me. Instead of the boy being infuriated, he was laughing. Having a horsey grin plastered across my own face I ran faster, straight out of town, up and down the lush green hills. The entire time, me and my human were both laughing, in our own ways.
Eventually we returned home, muddy, tired, but pure freedom rushing through our veins. We were the happiest we'd ever been.
