Pasteras, or Teras, are nocturnal, dog like creatures that live in jungle caves. They may look like dogs, or wolves, but Teras are actually more closely related to bats than canines. They have fairly poor eyesight, but they also possess an amazing sense of hearing, taste, touch, and smell. They are omnivores and eat most anything that could pass as a meal. (Bugs, small mammals, fruit, etc....)
Teras have thick, furry pelts that help them stay warm in their natural cave homes. Their fur sheds water much like the feathers of a duck; locking out the damp air of the caves and keeping their body heat trapped inside. Because of this, Teras are excellent swimmers, but tend to overheat if they are in the sun too log.
To accompany their specialized fur, they have long fuzzy tails that end with a plume of soft, silky hair. This extra fur is used as a weapon in defense. The long, thin strands leaves a stinging mark when they crack their tails like a whip. A Tera's tail also assists in its balance when climbing steep cave ledges or trees.
This species was thought to have gone extinct in the early 1700's, the last sighting being in 1712. But recently, scientists have found hoards of them living in caves under rainforests all over the world. It seems that they took refuge underground after they were nearly hunted to extinction for their extra fluffy fur. But now, more than enough have been found to declare the creatures alive once again. Their shy, laid back nature makes them popular house pets.

Welcome, one and all, to the first Pastera Artist Competition! I am looking for a group of artists to help me out with my adoptables! Here are the rules and prizes!
Rules:
❃ You can have up to five entries, but only two of those five can have edits
❃ Please try and keep the colors from clashing and/or using too many
❃ Don't steal designs from other artists. You will be disqualified if you do
❃ Entries may only be used as adopts by the winning artists if I have given my premission to do so.
❃You are not allowed to keep any of your entries (Artists, if you like a design in particular, you may base your custom off it, though)
❃ Don't whine or beg if you do not become an artist; there will probably be more chances in the future if the adopts take off
❃ If you have any questions on what you can and cannot add or change, feel free to PM me about it and I will try to answer as soon as possible
Prizes:
First Place winner(s): You will recive a perminate position as an artist and will be able to make up to 3 customs
Second place winner(s): you will offered a position as a Guest artist and can make 9 adoptables and 1 custom
Runner(s) up: You will be offered a Guest artist position if someone moves up a rank because an artist cannot fulfill their duties.
