What is a Makoatl?
A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.

why do they love the moon so much?:

well, it all started when he was younger. looking up into the bright sky, with a white line of light shining down upon his face, he then wondered. why didn't the moon shine all the time. i mean it was far more spectacular than the sun. with its beautiful shapes in the phases of the moon. to being able to reappear and disappear. they way the moon controlled the sea tides, and how full moons are said to make children hyperactive. he loves watching the moon beams flow over the night sky, and you can count them as they seem to "touch" you with an everlit frosty presence. how the moon has a light and dark side, and continuously flow in harmony. in one way or another, he is the moon. the moon's beauty is moreso than the sun. it cannot flow in harmony, it cant change phases, or control the tides. it can't become something beautiful in the night. and it doesn't always flow in direct harmony. the moon is the calm, the sun is the discord. to polaris. and it was all over a small thought that led up to a wonderful passion. the moon. the beautiful everlit moon.

Nuka loves the moon because he feels it is where he gets his energy from... We all know this isn't true, but to Nuka it is the number one source of life and sustenance for him... He is known to panic on new moons, where the moon cannot be seen as he feels as if he is going to die or get unwell... Nuka loves the moon because he sees it in everything, he loves how it gives everything light, and he loves how sneaky it is by stealing the suns light in order to light up the night sky... Nuka see's the moon as his supplier, his gaurdian and his friend, and nothing can change that... Simply, Nuka loves the moon because he feels it is what keeps him alive...

why do they love the moon so much?: Have you had that one simple thing that makes you smile? Something so universal, filled to the brim with wonderment at how big and how grand, and how overall... Too complicated for one breath, it is to understand. Nathaniel doesn't savvy the moon like it's a godly thing, he's usually at home, with the blinds drawn at night as the moon shines...
But at times when he is out and almost all is pitch black, or as he closes his blinds before going to sleep, and the moon catches the corner of his eye, there is no doubt he'll smile. It can't be helped. He's used to his routine life, day to day, a drawling continuous circle, but seeing something up high so far away, something that is so huge to him, yet is barely anything in the graph of the universe, seeing it glow down in silver-grey rays as he passively makes his way through, towards home, has a calmness to it Nathaniel can't help adore.

why do they love the moon so much?: He grew up on his own and the first thing he remembers seeing was the moon. When he was younger, he thought the moon was his mother. He knows now that this was silly but he always feels comfort when he looks up at them moon.
