The white shadow of a wolf bolted through the flames and smoke. Scars from many battles, burned at the heat of the flames. The she-wolf yelped in pain as the fire licked at her coat, burning her flesh at times. She dodged the flames looking for her family; her mother, her father, her sister; she may never see them again. She turned left and right; each time, flames shot up in front of her. She growled each time this happened, not only was it blocking her from her path, but keeping her from her family. A howl rose to the sky, but it did not come from her.
Shaking her head, as she turned to the left to get a better view of what made the noise. "Zene. I know that howl." she thought. However, no matter how hard she tried, she could not see her sister. Not only because of the flames, but also because of her blind left-eye. A wound that reminded her of a fight, not long ago; she was still getting use to her blindness in that eye.
Soon the she-wolf backed up, almost burning her tail on the flames. Before she hit the flames, she darted off into a area of the woods with little fire. She dodged trees as they broke away from their bark. Not looking back, the white wolf ran, far, and fast. She didn't stop until her legs hurt and she collasped. Once she was down, she glazed up, getting the view of a black wolf. "Zene," she mumbled before closing her eyes. "Zene? It's Xenia."
