Why are they together even though one is not the mom?: Their mom left them when Buttercup was fairly young, only the father was left. Soon there after, he left also, leaving Catrina with the Parenting jobs. Teaching Buttercup to hunt, protect herself, and get shelter were some of those jobs. Catrina always loved Buttercup, and will love her always. They both always had a general connection. When they were younger, they played around with each other and cuddled together during the winter. They love hunting and swimming in the river near by, fish and other aquatic life live in the river, providing a good source of food.
