Sam crept through the dark hall way, her ears twitching. She was curious to see why the seventh floor of the base was called "Nightmare Hall". So far, all she'd seen were a bunch of locked doors with numbers on them.
Sam dropped back onto all fours after examining one last door. She planned to head back to the sixth floor where she and her parents stayed. Suddenly, she heard footsteps. Sam froze mid-step, one hand suspended above the ground. Her breath caught in her chest. Something big was walking towards her. Then, a pair of glowing eyes appeared just down the hall, barely ten feet from Sam.
The young hybrid turned and bolted. She only made it four feet before she was lifted into the air. She wailed in fear and thrashed.
"Samantha!" came a scolding female voice. Sam stopped struggling. It was her mother.
"Oh . . . Hi, Mom," she said, trying to sound and look innocent. She looked up into her mother's golden eyes. The female Cainid did not look happy.

Sam, my Cainid/human hybrid character has just been caught roaming the halls of the forbiden seventh floor. Her mom isn't to pleased with her.
