Meanwhile, a female warrior, Dapplecloud started hanging around him. They became closer and finally became mates. He no longer held feelings for Foxtail and was also angry at her, because she never expressed any feelings towards Twistedtail and he assumed that she didn't love him. When Foxtail finally said that she did love him after she returned to the clan, Twistedtail became outraged and rejected her, saying that he is with Dapplecloud now and it was too late to express her feelings and that she should've done it a long time ago if she had wanted something to happen between them.
