Welcome to Runam
Runam is a rather small planet in a not-so-distant universe that is covered in a variety of landscapes, ranging from lush forests to grassy valleys, humid swamps to dry deserts, and cold mountains to snowy plains. With three large oceans that cover 65% of this globe, there is also plenty of water supplies which can also be found in stray rivers or lost lakes. Runam is inhabited by a feline creature called a
Zephina (Zeh-fee-nah) or Zephi (Zeh-fee) for short.
What is a Zephina?
Zephinas are large feline creatures that inhabit the various lands throughout Runam. Zephinas are omnivores; mostly eating fruits and greens, they can be seen eating small rodent like creatures such as the Wuzle when vegetation isn't readily available. A Zephina can live for 50 years (which is 150 Earth years). They mature quickly, but once they've matured they grow at a much slower rate making them live for a long time. A Zephi will be fully mature within the ages of 9 to 12 months. When a Zephina is fully mature, they are ready to mate. This creature mates for life. Mating takes place in the late winter seasons. About 3 months afterward in the mid springs season, a female Zephina will have a litter ranging from 1 to 3 Zephs or baby Zephinas.

Zephs in Detail
Coloring
Zephs are born colored with their leg markings. They do not grow into their colors or markings. Usually, a Zephs coloring matches that of its parents. If you have two blue parents, the Zephs will be blue colored, too. If you have one blue parent and one red parent, the Zephs will be a mix of both colors. If you have one common parent and one rare parent, the coloring is based off the common coloring for the main coat and the rare coloring for the markings. If you have two rare parents, the coloring is a combination of the marking colors and the marking colors will be a combination of the rare coloring.
Size
Zephs are born with fuzzy vision. They are not blind, but can not see very clearly. All Zephs are born sleek and thin and have two wisps. The other features will develop over time before they reach adulthood. A female will start getting more fur around 6-8 months and the boys will get more toned around 9-12 months.
All Zephs are born the same size, regardless of gender. They are extremely small and fragile at birth which is why they must stay in the nursery with their mothers for two months. They average a range of 2-5 inches at birth. Since they grow at a fast rate, they can be 5-10 inches before leaving the nursery. Below will be a detailed growth chart for each stage before maturity:
- Baby (1 month) = Height : 2-5 inches
Baby (2 months) = Height : 5-10 inches
Child (3 months) = Height : 10-18 inches
Child (4 months) = Height : 18-26 inches
Child (5 months) = Height : 26-32 inches
Teen (6-8 months) = Height : (F)28-34 inches | (M)30-36 inches
Mature (9-12 months) = Height : (F)34-38 inches | (M)36-40 inches
Milestones
Getting a little more into the growth process, below is a list of the different stages of life with a description that entails specific events.
- Baby (1-2 months) - A Zeph is born to his or her parents. During this time, a Zeph will stay in the nursery with his or her mother for two months. The basic skills are learned at this age. Walking, talking, and recognizing family members are a few of the learned skills.
Child (3-5 months) - At this age, a Zeph is able to leave the nursery. However, he or she will not leave their mothers side. Also at this age, Zephs begin learning their roles in the pride. Some early bloomers will start sprouting more wisps (for the females) and antlers (for the males).
Adolescent (6-8 months) - Being an adolescent Zeph is pretty normal. The average Zeph will start growing additional wisps and antlers at this time. The late bloomers catch the tail end of this period. They are able to leave their mothers. Zephs use this time to get hands on experience in their roles.
Mature (9-12 months) - All Zephs mature in this stage. Females and males alike are finished with developing their features. They are now ready to engage the world. Both males and females are trying to find their soul mates during this stage. No Zeph wants to be left lonely.
Adult (1-25 years) - All Zephs are given the title of Zephina. Most Zephis have found a mate and have had at least one litter which can have up to three Zephs. A couple can mate three times a year (which means 3-9 Zephs a year). All Zephis are active in their specific roles at this time.
Senior (26-50) - At the end of their lives, Zephis stop breeding but continue their duties. Elder Zephis tend to be extremely family oriented and like to have get togethers with the whole Zephina family tree (which can be quite the event). A large majority in this stage are leaders.
