[The wild one]

Kronos was awoken by the sound of scratching at the entrance to his den. His mate, Sierra, lifted her head.
"Who could be knocking at this ungodly hour . . . ?" she growled, her voice tired. Kronos shrugged.
"I don't know," he mumbled. "I'll go see. You stay and sleep." He got to his feet and shook. He walked to the entrance of his den, ready to snap at whoever was interuping his sleep.
Then, he saw who it was. It was his half-brother, Bloodstone. And he was on the verdge of tears. Kronos became fully awake and rushed over to his younger brother.
"Blood! What's wrong?" he asked, licking his face. The smaller Cainid just shook his head. He was unable to speak. Then:
"It's Selene," he managed before bursting into tears. Kronos nuzzled the back of Bloodstone's neck, hushing him as he did.
"What happened?" he asked in a soft, fatherly voice. Bloodstone buried his face into his brother's neck.
"She's dead," he said, letting the tears stream down his face.
Kronos' heart almost stopped. Selene? Dead? It couldn't be . . . He'd seen her only a few days ago. She hadn't been in the best shape of her life, but when had she?
"H-how?" Kronos asked, pulling away from his brother. Bloodstone closed his eyes.
"Z-Virus. We didn't catch it in time," he said quietly. Kronos pulled Bloodstone to his chest and let him sob into his thick, grey fur.
"I'm sorry, my brother," he whispered.

Bloodstone telling his half-brother, Kronos that his mate had died of a deadly, but preventable, virus. Another one o' my fake screen shots.

EDIT: Dude, I swear that this took long than an hour and 22 minutes . . . Half of this picture was drawn using a mouse pad, and it takes me forever to draw with it.
