these reptilian creatures known as Niveas were discovered
quite recently wandering the Sahara desert. from a first glimpse a Nivea has been
known to look very similar to a lion in the sense they both have manes. yet, upon closer
investigation these creatures were discovered to possess all qualities of a reptile- except
for this fur. this has stunned many researchers, as the fur is part of the creature- not
something they just wear for camouflage. along with this, almost every specimen
they took a look at had little to no similarities in color, or pattern. the only
significant feature that they found in common were all of them had spots somewhere
on their body. wither it be one single large one, or the entire body was covered-
all of these little lizards carried this 'spot gene'.
these niveas also did not eat anything that seemed to be offered to them. they
tried all the common things reptiles were known for eating; insects, plants, and small
rodents. though, to no avail. finally when one of the researchers took one home, he
found the creature digging in the trash- eating cardboard, styrofoam, and paper!
this stumped the researchers further. yet, everything about these creatures seemed
off. they ate odd food, were oddly colored, and had an odd mane growing from their
head and neck. even now, no one surely knows how these creatures were able to
survive all this time.
but once they begun to bring them in, one thing was discovered that was still interesting,
changed the directional path of these creatures ever since the discovery of their
species. they loved people, and other animals! many researchers would find the little
reptiles trying to curl up in their lap when working. they also would occasionally go
over to some of the other research stations and cuddle with various animals- from
dogs to cats, to the one curious little one that tried to leap into a fish tank and
swim with the fish!
after this, the researchers decided to adopt them out to loving families. now this
is where you come in! to the right we have posted a list of all Niveas available for
adoption! just click the link and you will be taken to the thread, where you can
fill out an adoption sheet for one of these guys. please make sure to read the rest
of these posts before applying though!

• do not steal the species, as it is copyrighted to myself (snow.)
• do not steal any designs made on the species
• do not ask the artists to put out new designs; they post when they are ready. however you may send the artists suggestions if they post on any Nivea threads asking for some
• treat everyone with respect
• do not spam the thread
• currently you can own up to 6 niveas. staff can own 8
• no co-owning niveas. trading may be possible in the near future, though currently is not
• gifting is allowed if given approval by me (snow.). if you would like to put your nivea back up for adoption, pm me asking for permission, then pm the artist and they will hold the readoption. you may assist with judging, if you choose
• do not sell your nivea for any type of currency
• you may not alter your niveas design in any way, including altering the hair, body, etc
• accessories are allowed
• customs are not currently opened for anyone excluding staff. there may be events in the future where you may win a custom, however
• i hold the right to add/change/remove any of the rules above

why do you want to be a mod?
I am always a very straight forward person and I love to be able to help others.
I adore getting to get involved in a species before they become popular and
help the community grow into one that everyone can enjoy and want to be a
part of. As I have almost no artistic skill being a moderator is a great way for
me to do this.

a user posts complaining that a competition was judged unfairly. how would you respond?
I would politely contact them through PM so as not to spam the thread and ask
them why they think a competition has been judged unfairly and if they respond
with some answer along the lines of just that they think they should have won then
I would assure them politely that that is not a very substancial reason to accuse
an artist of being biased and that the competition was judged based on what
the artist felt fit best with that particular Nivea.
If they give me several good reasons on why the appears an artist may have judged
unfairly then I would contact you and inform you of the situation and allow you to
be able to assess the situation for yourself and to decide on a course of action.
