It's true I tell you!
I forget what exactly it said, but the Night 6 call in FNaF 2 says something along the lines of
Why are you still here? The place was shut down, but it's safer to finish your shift than try to leave in the middle of the night. Someone stole a spare suit from the back, a yellow one. There's one more event tomorrow, a birthday party. You'll have the day shift, wear your uniform. Your job will be to monitor the animatronics to be sure they don't harm anyone. I'll likely take a night shift after that myself.
We know that Phone Guy did in fact take the night shift as he was in the office before Mike, but if it's a sequel, explain to me how Phone Guy is even alive in FNAF 2. He was killed on Night 4. Speaking of Phone Guy, on Night 1 he mentions that you are the first night shift.
Also who said they were the old animatronics? My dad thinks there are three generations of animatronics -
The withered/'old' animatronics trying to kill you in FNAF 2.
The shiny vintage china doll animatronics also in FNAF 2.
The 'original' animatronics from FNAF.
And my own opinion -
If FNAF is the first one, then explain to me why the animatronics look more modern than the ones in the second game. I've also found
this -
ROBOTS SCRAPPED
Freddy Fazbear's is Closing
After being open only a few short weeks, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is closing it's doors.
The new animatronics will be scrapped due to possible malfunctions, however the original characters are being kept in hopes of possible reorganization of the company.
"It's a minor setback. We are confident that we will reopen someday, even if it's with a much smaller budget." - CEO Fazbear Ent.
We know that the pizzeria has been threatened with shut down before, and here we know for a fact it has been shut down. And if it takes place in 1987, then how does Phone Guy from the
first game know about the Bite, if FNAF was in fact earlier than FNAF 2?
