A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.
Welcome to this years Makoatl Costume Contest!
For Halloween I thought we'd do a costume contest. Of course there are rules to abide by and all that but it'll be fun and a good way for our community to come together I'm sure! So welcome to our contest! This is also a segway into our last event of the month. Don't worry we'll be having games in between now and then but this is a big one, now onto the things you'll need to know ^^

Things to Know/Keep in Mind

-If you don't have a mako don't worry!-
**The boy above will serve as the mascot and you can dress him up instead**
-The boy will then be raffled off at the end of the whole event-
-Creativity is all that matters-
**It's not about your skill level or medium, it's about the effort and creativity you put in**
-PLEASE put effort into your dress up-
**I don't want to award anyone who didn't really put effort into the dress up**
-You and someone else can have the same costume if it happens somehow-
**It won't hurt your chances unless it's something very generic such as a ghost, bat, witch, etc**
- To participate in the Trick-or-Treating event at the end of October you MUST have a costumed makoatl -
**You don't have to enter the contest part but you have to submit a form here with a dressed up makoatl**
Competition Closes to new entries October 24th 11:59 PM MST
-You can still submit your costumed makoatls after that but they'll count for Trick-or-treating only-

- You MUST draw the art yourself for the competition-
**It can be traditional, Digital, whatever but it MUST be done by you**
- Entries must be colored -
**Traditional is fine, it just must be colored so I can tell**
- You can enter any/all of your makos if you wish -
**If you don't have a mako then you can dress up the babe above**
- Please take all chat about costumes/Events to the Fanclub -
**This way the thread stays clear for judging**
- Be kind to everyone who enters and their art/costumes/etc -
**I don't want to hear any hate, this is a fun event for everyone regardless of skill level or creativity**
- Costumes MUST follow CS rules -
**Gore, violence, etc is not allowed - If you have a costume that must include please note me on DeviantArt**

FAQ
Is it ok to make one lineart for all entries? Like 1 basic Mako lineart for all three of my makos then edit each into its costume?
- Yes this is acceptable! As long as it's done by you this is absolutely fine
Are we allowed to offer our makos for non-owners to dress up as well?
- Yes this is fine, Please be aware that they may dress the mako out of their character since they don't know.
***New*** - You are allowed to have someone help you with lining if you'd like.
If you do it traditionally and need help from a friend please have both parties PM me.
The owner with the traditional image and then the partner who will help line the image digitally
I don't mind if you reach out since some people don't have a tablet or something's broken, etc.
