A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.

meaning: "ko" in japanese means "child," and "kiri" means
many things, in this case "remaining"

why? the first thing i thought of upon seeing this design was
the cross-setion of a tree. i, being a nerd, immediately thought of
the great deku tree from the legend of zelda, and decided to name
him after the ageless elven race that the tree guards.

additionally, i thought that his character could be one of an
individual that appears wise and sensible, and is, but really
just a child at heart.

Reason Why: when I look at Zher, I'm reminded of earth. Not the planet, but the ground. Soil. Not that Zhe's dirty, but the warm red tones and flow of Zher's patterns make me think of the flowing colors of soil. All of the different elements: fire, water, and air, are apart of earth. The fire once molded the rocks that have since been crushed into small particles. The water keeps it from turning to dust.
