Personally using a tablet is more difficult for me, since for some reason my tablet's screen is very dark. All google answers were unhelpful, so it stays that way. So until it's fixed, no tablet art for me. xD Touchpad is all I use.

I have a Wacom Cintiq 12WX. It's dark because it's old. I got it 3 years ago, but have only used it twice. The age, according to google, eventually darkens the screen over time. It is mostly unfixable, so I probably won't be using it often, if at all. xD

In all seriousness that's horrible and I'm sorry. But my classroom did have a cintiq last year, and I know for a fact that you can set the input up as mirroring instead of having it act as a separate monitor, in which case you could just draw on it like a normal tablet and look at your computer screen to see things? Are you windows or mac?

Yeah, I used it under that setting. I did one drawing of my kiamara, Aeris, on ChibiPaint a month or two ago when I fixed a pen pressure issue that stopped me from using it for a long time. I didn't even realize the screen was that dark until I tried coloring, and with Aeris being a dark kiamara her markings were almost completely invisible, making me have to use my computer for the coloring aspect half the time.

I didn't know tablets actually had their own system of drawing; I've only ever used it for the 'mirroring' aspect.

Windows 7.

Though, it's not all bad since I actually greatly prefer using the touchpad/mouse in favor of a pen. Easier to control the lines and I pay much better attention to detail, even if most artpieces take an extra hour or two to do.
