He is generally a quiet beast though he does speak to the other ANE's sometimes. Whenever he speaks his voice never wavers, always a deep and melodious whinny that makes the other ANEs both admire and fear him. Almost no other male ANE will challenge him and those who do are sorry they did. No one, not even the other ANEs, know were he lives as he seems to disapear into the night when he goes back to his home.
History:Many years ago a beautiful palomino mare stood and turned to see her son. He was as golden as the crown of the gods, marked with patches of white like his father. She was surprised to see the colt already attempting to stand and after two tries he succeeded, she knew then that this foal would have a fighting spirit. "You are simply....Divine" she murmured and from that day forth the golden colt was known as Divine.
16 years laterA melodious whinny filled the air as Divine reared, his glistening mane rippling through the air like a banner of war. Another stallion had come into Divine's herd to steal some mares, and Divine was not pleased about this. The other stallion charged straight at Divine but Divine simply dogged to the side, swinging his head and knocking the other male to the ground. He turned and locked horns with the other stallion as he stood, the two shoved as hard as they could and the other stallion was quickly losing ground, his hooves sliding along and leaving scrapes in the earth. Divines blue eyes gleamed with such determination and bravery that as the other stallion looked into them he knew he would lose. The stallion raced away, Divine's angry calls urging him to run farther and farther until he could no longer hear them. Divine turned to his wonderful herd, his eyes become gentle once more. Many of the stallions now knew of how powerful Divine was, many would not even come near Divines herd.
5 years laterDivine had scared off many stallions in his day bit never would he face such danger as he would today. Divine was moving his herd along when they suddenly came upon an area that was covered by black storm clouds. Angry cries rang across the land and gust of wind blew by so fast that they nearly knocked the ANEs over. Divine told his herd to wait and ventured into the midst of the storm alone. What he found was the king of the gods, Katonda, in a battle with an evil god. Divine was shocked to see the gods and even more shocked to see that Katonda seemed to be losing. The evil god raised his cursed blade, one of the few weapons that could kill a god, and swung it forth at Katonda. Divine did what he knew he had to do, he leapt in front of the king of gods. The cursed blade sliced off a part of Divine's horn and sunk deep into his chest. Divine let out a horrible cry of pain as the curse from the blade shocked through his body, he flew back and collapsed on the ground. As his eyes closed he saw Katonda, having been given time to act by his bravery, defeating the evil god with one quick stab.
A couple days later Divine let out a gasp as his opened, around him were tall crystalline walls and many large cloud like beds. Divine realized he was in some sort of healing place as he could see and smell wounded. He shakily stood and looked about him, how strange heaven was. Suddenly he saw Katonda quickly walking toward him. Divine bowed to the king of gods and was surprised to feel the gods hand on his neck. " Come" Katonda said with a gentle and yet commanding voice. Divine followed him to a large room with multiple tall thrones all with a different design. In each throne sat a god or goddess, Divine was very confused at this point. " You saved not only my life but also all who would have died had that god taken over" Katonda said to Divine, pulling Divine out of his confusion. " For that I must repay you, I brought you here and though the magic of the cursed blade is strong its curse was easier to overpower in your strong Equid body" Katonda continued, watching Divine carefully. Divine shook his head, he had died! He remembered now, the feeling of that horrid blade sinking into his chest. " So where am I now, if this is not heaven and I am not dead?" He asked. The gods all smiled at one another, " It takes a very strong heart to do what you did Divine, so I talked to the other gods and we all agreed. You are now one of us, after we healed you we made you one of us. You are our equal now" Katonda explained. A goddess pointed to a mirror on one of the walls. So Divine, still not sure what was going on, walked over to the mirror. He let out a gasp of absolute surprise, he had changed. His pelt was now more golden than ever before, his eyes a deeper blue and he had grown to be much taller. " You are now the god of the Equids" one of the gods told him. Divine took a moment to digest this and then asked " What about my horn and all these scars, how did I get these scars?". " As we said, the cursed blade is very strong, we could return your life but not make you horn or wounds caused by the curses power disappear....the cursed blade is strange in the way it works" Katonda murmured. Divine just nodded in understanding. After hours of discussion about Divine's new title, Katonda sent Divine back down from the gods land to earth. Divine returned to his herd who were very surprised but glad to have him back. They then continued on happily for many years though Divine was quite busy now.
Current day Divine's mares died off and he slowly drifted away from the herd. Now he wanders Africa, discovering its secrets and wonders. In his travels Divine fights both mythical and non-mythical enemies for the safety and freedom of all the equids. In these battles he has obtained many war wounds that he honourably wears as a sign of his devotion. He still sometimes looks at the scars from the fateful day that he saved the king of gods. The scars and missing scales his body obtained while fighting the curse, and the the horn that was half sliced off. Every night he returns to the land of the gods to speak with the gods/ goddesses about the day and anything that needs change. No one knows were his home is though, maybe he does not have one and is simply,a wandering king of kings.
