Umm, these are my dream horses, so that's why they're colored unusually. I'm aware that there is a breed of horse in which the standard color is the same as the mare's.

I don't really like the foal's coloring that much, I just made it a mix of it's parents colors. (And I know that horse genetics is different from human genetics, so that offspring coloration could be completely different from it's parents' colors.)

The breed is known for its preferred "chocolate" coat color and flaxen mane and tail, the result of the relatively rare silver dapple gene acting on a black coat, seen in much of the population.

And the google images bring up black-white horses though...

As a coloration. I'd think it wouldn't be too common, but then again horses surprise a lot of people.

Yeah, I saw that same one, guess that's the flaxen mane. So it's really 'chocolate' colored, not black then? DUN-DUN-DUN!
