Come take a look around. Maybe you'll find a Katirin you like?
So What is a Katirin?
Physical Appearance
A Katirin (Kuh-teer-in OR Kah-teer-in) is a dragon-like creature best known for their small size. They average at about 3 1/2-5 inches tall when adults though some are taller. They have three sets of spikes on their tails; bottom, middle, and top spikes (also called lower, middle, and upper). The spikes on the left side of their tails are always a mirror image of the spikes on the right. Usually, these spikes are backward-facing (shown above) but in some cases a Kat will have one or two sets facing forward. In rare cases, you might see one with all 3 pairs facing forward. The most rare type of tail spike is facing both ways. You will almost never see a Kat with one spike that splits and points both ways (obviously a Katirin like that would have a pair of split spikes, not just a single spike). They usually have feathered wings but you'll sometimes see one with bat wings or, in very rare cases, a combination of both. Both of a Kat's wings are identical, you'll never see one with two differently colored or patterned wings. They also have horns. There are no horn rarities. Kats have 4 toes on each paw and one extra toe on the forepaws. This extra claw helps them grab things although they don't have the same grabbing ability as humans. They have somewhat long ears and soft silky fur.
History of the Katirin
The Katirin were once a common sight. They could be seen pretty much everywhere. Then, as humans began grew more sophisticated, they began to desire soft furs. Katirins had the perfect fur (although species with softer fur have been found since then), however they were so small that you could hardly get any fur from them. The humans hunted them into what was believed to be extinction. For over 2 thousand years, they were believed to completely extinct. Then, very recently, Canadian authorities received a call from a lady saying that she had found a small furry dragon hiding in her couch. Upon investigation, it was found that an entire family of Katirin had been sheltering in her house after a particularly cold winter. Since then, the species has flourished. There are now many of them roaming the world. Kats are generally a very timid species but some of them can be tamed. They are still cosidered endangered, but maybe one day they'll be a common sight again.
