MY ENCOUNTER WITH THE TAPIWA
Username: Hobbit Geek
ANE's Name: Tapiwa (Do not change)
Gender: Stallion
Rarity: Legendary
Coat Color: Chimera
Age: 25 years old
Personality: The Tapiwa is a strange stallion who doesn't like proof of himself existing and would rather be a nightmare in legends then a feared beast everyone knows what he looked like. He is somewhat cruel in his ways, but once he bonds or learns to trust someone or something he'll protect them for life. He can be a bit overprotective of his mate, but its one of the few ways he shows he cares. But, to the extremely few he pities, he might show a string of kindness.
Your Encounter:
You want me to explain how I met him, the most terrifying, beautiful, most gentle creature I've ever seen? Where would I even begin..? Hmm Well, I'll just start and see how it goes.

I came to the Savannah in mid afternoon, the heat here is killing me yet I haven't even been out here for even ten minutes. I'm looking to take picture's of the animals as I am a photographer, and taking picture's of animal's is my life's work. Anyway, I must admit the flight here could've been better but I can't complain if I'm here unharmed. There stood a man who greeted me after being here nearly 15 minutes now. "I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting." He said, seeming to be panting. "A nearby town was attacked last night by some animal and they had asked me to help out." He explained. "Don't worry about it." I said, waving it off. "Is everyone alright?" I asked, worried someone had been hurt in the attack. "No, so far it's only killed livestock. But we fear the beast will hurt, even kill someone if we don't kill it." He replied. "Kill it!" I exclaimed, shocked. "It hasn't harmed anyone" I added. "Hasn't killed anyone yet." He corrected, shaking his head. "No one here will risk everyone's lives for the sake of one beast!" He said, frowning at me. At that moment I instantly realized I hated him, because animals to me were a prize and he spoke of this creature like it was a pest that needed to be exterminated. I scowled at him but decided it wasn't an argument I should be pressing at this moment. "I was told you were to show me the camp we were staying at?" I said, changing the subject. He nodded "Follow me." he said, turning and walking to a car. He got into the drivers seat and I set my bags in the back before sitting beside him in the passenger's side, watching as he turned the car on and drove off through the savannah. The breeze created by the speed the truck was moving at didn't seem to help cool me down much, but it was refreshing and calmed my nerves. We drove for what felt like a miserable hour, but it most likely was 15 minutes, before we reached the camp. There was a few people there and when I took my bags out of the truck the man pointed to one of the hut's and told me it's where I was going to stay. I nodded and walked to the hut's door, stopping before I entered and turned to look at him. "You never told me your name..?" I said. "Its Mercer" He said. I replied with my name and walked into the hut, setting my bags down and looking around. There was one bed, one window and a dresser for me to sit and write or whatever you'd need a dresser in the middle of the savannah for. I unpacked my camera's, taking the one's that had night vision and setting them up around the camp along with motion detector's that would alert me of any movement. By this time it was getting dark, and I walked back into camp drenched in sweat and extremely tired. Mercer walked up to me with a bowl of some strange green liquid and told me it was dinner. "What is it?" I asked, feeling a bit sick just looking at it. "My grandma's old famous recipe" He said with a smile as he turned and left. I ate it, or maybe drank it would be a better wording. But when I did I felt my stomach churn and I coughed. I swear he put bugs in it, but every time I ask him he claims he didn't. But I was tired and I wasn't in the mood to think about it much, I just walked into my hut and got into bed, well more like collapsed but whatever.
It was 2 in the morning when the motion detectors started beeping wildly, making me fall out of bed in confusion. I yawned, blinking as stood and looked around. It took me a second before I realized what was going on, and when I did my eyes widened and I quickly got a camera of mine and ran outside. At first I couldn't see anything, but as my sight adjusted to the darkness I looked around. Nothing. Was my motion detecter's broken or am I just going crazy? I shook my head, turning to go back into my hut. But I froze before I could even turn fully around. Something was wathcing me, I could feel its gaze. I couldn't see it but I knew it was there. I turned slowly around, looking out into the distance. At first I didn't see anything, but after a moment I noticed it. Bright red eyes gazing at me in the darkness, and half a red hide shineing in the moonlight. I couldn't see the whole creature, but I guessed this was the same beast that attacked the town last night. I lifted my camera to take picture's, hoping the night vision on the camera would give me a better few of the beast, but within seconds it was gone, and I was left to wonder if I had even seen it at all.
The next day I checked my motion detector's, which were all working just fine. But when I checked on my camera's I saw they were all smashed to pieces. I asked around the camp and no one had touched them, so I believed the beast I had seen last night had done it, but why? I shook my head and went back to my hut, replacing the broken camera's with new ones before going out to take pictures of the animals. I came across many animals, but none were like the one I saw the night before. The red eyes and hide were of no beast I've seen before, and the fact that I could only make half the beast out in the dark confuses me. I tried to keep my thought's off the beast and focus on enjoying my next few weeks here in the savannah, but it was hard.
After hours of taking pictures of wilder beats, cheetah's, zebra's and many other animal's, I grew tired of it and walked back to camp, tired and hot I politely refused Mercer's food and walked into my little hut and tried to draw what I saw last night, but it was not easy since I could only make out half the animal. I don't know exactly how or when, but sometime when I was drawing I fell asleep.
I woke at exactly 2 in the morning, motion detecter bleeping like crazy again. I was about to yawn when I heard movement outside my hut, it sounded almost like scales scraping against the hut. I grew afraid, but in a moment the sound was gone. I grabbed a camera, probably out of habit, and peeked outside the hut. Once again, nothing. I walked out, a shiver running down my spine as I walked past the huts and towards a few of my camera's. Like the night before I could feel the beast's gaze on me, but I don't know where he was. I grew afraid I would die, that everything Mercer said was true and that at one point or another this creature would kill someone, and I grew scared that the someone was gonnna be me. The camera's, like the one's before, were broken to pieces, seeming to have been pushed over and stomped on until there was nothing left to salvaged. I scowled, all these broken camera's were expensive, didn't this monster realize that money didn't grow on trees? I shook my head, but I froze as I felt something's hot breath down my neck. Whatever this beast was, it was right behind me. I gulped and slowly turned around to face a creature I have never heard the likes of. Its hide was, unlike was I thought, red and black, and its eyes seemed to burn into my very soul. Fear gripped me as I stared at the terrifying creature, I could swear I was shaking in fear as I stood. I couldn't move a muscle, and I believed I was going the die right here. But the beast surprised me, instead of attacking me he simply snatched the camera from my hands with his mouth and dropped it to the ground before stomping it to pieces like the others. While he was distracted I felt a strong urge to pet him, I know Its strange and I probably have a death wish but I couldn't help it. His hide was tough, but his mane was soft. He flinched and I instantly pulled my hand back, fearing I might have angered him. He turned and stared at me, almost as if deciding if he should kill me. But both me and him jumped as we heard yelling and guns firing. The beautiful creautre reared and made a scream so terrifying, so, so.. I don't even know how to describe it, but I'll never get it out of my head, never. He turned and galloped away, and I looked in the other direction to see what had spooked us both. It was Mercer and the rest of the camp, aparently coming to my 'rescue' as they put it. But as many times as I said I was fine, they still wouldn't believe me. They said the beast that I had seen was said to be a myth, the people called him Tapiwa and he was said to be a spirit beast of some sort. They had some medical guy come out here to make sure I wasn't hurt, but I've been telling them I'm fine and unharmed but they wouldn't listen.
through the next few morning's I wake up early and try to get more picture's taken of the animals at the savannah, but each day I am to find that Mercer has insisted I take someone with me in case the Tapiwa decided to 'attack' me again. And every time I tried very hard to convince him I didn't need a guard, but like everyone else here he was stubborn and now I have this guy trailing me everywhere I go. I wish I could say I could just ignore him, but every time we get close enough to an animal he goes and does something to scare it off. I think Mercer just wanted to give me the one guy that was prone to sneezing or tripping or stepping on twigs or yelling just at the moment I was about to take a picture. I scowled, glaring at him after he had scared off another animal. "Why don't we go collect some water or something?" I suggested, hoping to find a way to leave him somewhere and be able to actually get a picture of an animal before I'd have to go home. He nodded, "Uh, yeah sounds like it'd be a good idea." He said, leading the way to the nearest river. I wondered why he didn't just take us to camp where we usually get water, but I didn't question him. We walked up to the water, he refilled his watter bottle and mine. I'm still puzzled about why he brought me here when I lost my footing and screamed as I fell in the water. Now I wouldn't have been that upset about falling in water, for in this heat it would've cooled me down, but what scared me was the crocodile I saw racing towards me under the water. I shakily kept my head above the water and tried getting out and back on land, but where my 'protecter' was standing was a foot or so above the water and the water happened to be deep right were I was so between the mud and me being soaking wet it was inpossible for me to get out unless the guy who just stood there shocked helped me out. "HELP ME!" I yelled at him. He nodded and ran off, to who knows where and left me wondering what the heck he thought he was doing. "I SAID HELP ME!" I yelled, glancing back the the croc. There was nothing left for me to do, my only chance of surviving just ran off and I have a huge croc racing towards me. I closed my eyes, expecting death at any moment, but it didn't come. I only heard splashing. I opened my eyes and stared in surprised. In front of me was a red and black hide so familiar, my beast had returned. And in the daylight I could see its feature's clearly, its hard hide was thick with large muscles that flexed as the animal moved. I watched in amazement as the creature fought of the croc and turned toward me. "I'm fine" I told him, staring at him in surprise. Why would he save my life? "Thanks to you." I added. He gave a little snort, putting his neck under my arm. He, this said monsterous beast, helped me out of the river. I thanked him, keeping a respectful distance from him. Once again we were surprised by yelling and gunshots. I turned to see my 'protector' running back with Mercer and everyone else from camp. I scowled and stood in front of Tapiwa. "Don't you dare hurt him" I yelled, glaring at them. I don't know what happened, nor who did it, but I heard a gunshot and felt a sharp pain in my arm, my head and a scream from Tapiwa before everything went black.
When I woke the first thing I noticed was that I felt a lot of pain in my arm. But when I opened my eyes I saw that Tapiwa was standing beside me. I smiled slightly, but it quickly left when I noticed he was bleeding. "Your hurt!" I excliamed, standing with a wince. I looked around, we weren't by the river anymore, and I had no idea where Mercer or the others were. The gunshot I heard only just cut my arm, but it slid past me and shot Tapiwa in the shoulder, I assume when he was shot he acccidently hit me in the back of my head, but I don't know for sure what happened. "Come on boy, we need to get that wound cleaned." I said, trying to help him to a pond or something. He snorted, moving away from me. The once small sliver of kindness was gone, he had taken pity on me and that was it. But we split ways in the end, he wondered off into the savannah and I went home.
I sometimes wonder what happened to him, or what would've happened if I had stayed. But one thing I know for sure, is that I'm going back to see him, no matter what.
