Location: found in warmer climates, places closer the the equator, they tend to stay away from the mountains because their hooves are not built to climb over mountains and their coats are rather short and they don't grow for winter.
About:
Their eyes come in many color variations, but surprisingly, it is rare to find them with typical horse eye colors such as blue, brown and hazel(which is typically found on Champagnes)
They are found in horse colors, and sometimes but VERY rare, with almost a 1% chance, could be found with sable.
They can be albino or melanistic but it won't be able to be passed on to their offspring easily
They can be chimera but this is NOT a genetic trait so it can't be passed to their offspring, but there is a 1% chance that an offspring could be born chimera but this can happen to any breeding whether one or none of the parents are chimerah, it would be rare if more than one in the litter was chimera this chance is so small it's close to impossible.
they are VERY smart and can get out of pretty much any situation, males have a bad temper that's hard to be controlled. Males can become really protective of offspring and their mate.
this is a wild species, very hard to tame and even if they are trained and kept in captivity they don't last very long and for unknown reason become ill and die. It is believed that the reasoning is due to lack of freedom.
Females are always 2+ hands shorter than males. The highest the males can reach is 16.1 hands, as females have never been found over 14.0 hands.
Females, like humans, are the ones with more colors often times prettier, though both genders come in lots of colors, females tend to have more markings, only females have the possibility of having the coloration of ticked/ticking, a dog color, but ticking is very rare.
Males tend to have two colors in one eye but both eyes will have the same two colors, so a male could have eyes that were half purple and half green. Only males can have stripes with the acceptation of leg baring on Buckskins and duns.
Breeding:
both horses MUST be 4 years of age or older to breed. A breeding MUST be between a male and a female, considering they mate for life. I have baby lines planned and will be posting a nursery line if I haven't already, the maker of the adult manes and tails will also design the baby manes and tails (the manes and tails of the babies might not be different depending on what the artist has drawn for the adults) a pair can breed 3 times so be wise with who you pair and when you breed.
They are born in litters normally of 1-2, three have never been known to survive and is a danger to the mother and the offspring.
Since they mate for life, you can't just walk in and ask to breed a random male and female together. You must own at least one of this species and have a partner, or you need permission from the owner(s) of the mated pair.
If you own a male, say he's the only you own if this species, you can find an unmated female and request the owners permission for them to be mates. If the owner says yes and you start breeding them, there's no going back, and since you don't own both, you and your partner in breeding for the pair must be okay and agree on who gets what breeding.
Once a pair has been set up, the owners will have to let the artist(s) who created the male and female to write on the first comment who the mate is so that other know they are not open for mating any longer.
The only time that you are able to determine the number of offspring and ensure that there is 2 in the litter, is if only one of the mates is owned by you. As said before you and your partner will have to agree to both wanting one from this breeding.
Babies may be placed up for adoption, you will know when they are for adoption because "Adopt me" will be placed above the baby. If there are two offspring from the litter then an arrow will point to which ever is the one being adopted out. From there the owner of the litter will have to decide who gets the offspring unless they pass it to the artist who made the litter.
Specific artists will or have been chosen to take breedings, we request that you are specific with who you want to take the breeding.
Before an artist starts drawing your breeding, they have I be able to put together the genetics they want the offspring to have, a mod who has been assigned specifically to verify genetics will verify if the coat color of the offspring is correct for the genetics the artist has laid out for the baby(s) or not, if not the mod will let them know what it would be so they don't have to take too much time with trying to figure it out.

Many of you I have called to be part if this that DOES NOT mean you can skip over the rules! It very important that you follow them, as I don't want to hear issues at the end because you didn't read...
Not very many people are joining this and listing things below I am completely open to questions don't be scared. Not only that but I am looking for applications to be filled out! Please do so that way I know what's going on. Artists you are allowed to also try out to name the species, you can write it in on your portfolio to show it goes with our design, also I'm changing a bit of the design rules to make it a bit more open.
Artists: you will be allowed to take breedings, customs(if it happens), make adoptables and so on and so forth.
In this contest, as an artist
-you can create a mane and tail, for each gender, this means they will not need to be the same between genders, it's either you create for both or none, other wise your portfolio will only be determined by the coats of your entries
-You are limited to making 1 mane and tail style for each gender
- I honestly don't care if it's horse like or not! They don't have to look similar but they can if you would like! It doesn't matter
- you need to prove that you are worthy of being an artist, your first entry must display both the female and male on the same image like the cover photo above(with the acceptation of the manes and tails but they must remain grey)
-if you decide you just want to be an artist, then by all means just color in the male and female images separately (under your cover photo)
-any entries you make after you cover photo must be listed under the cover page, they cannot be by them self, they must be based off your cover(first entry) not mine, this way it's easier for me to see all you have done without it being jumbled and out of order
-your cover image must have your user on it so I know who is the artist of what portfolio
- after you have made your cover image, you will need to impress me with at least one image of each gender(you are not limited to how many entires you may make), they MUST be in real horse colors, no pinks, greens, rainbows, or anything to that extent
-eye color has no limit to what in can be
-if you would like, go ahead and add accessories to any of your entries
-If I like your mane and tail style it will become part of the line when it is opened to the public, if you Win I will ask that you open your cover image for only me to edit, I will be making the background and I will need to add it to the winning entry.
-any artists that are runner ups to the winner will become permanent artists as well
-those who are picked are allowed 1 custom for them self once I open to the public, the winner will be allowed one custom of each gender. from there, customs will probably be earned via contests.

Because of this, the breeding center won't be opened until the offspring lines are ready, I already have the base made, I'll be making a few minor changes but I won't be adding it to the competition because I'm already giving you guys enough to do.
Please don't edit the layers except the eye color, and the coat color. the mane and tails must be on their own layer(s), ****EDIT**** please make the mane and tail on its own layer ALONG with color for mane and tail on another layer, you may make a layer for mane and tail shadowing the layers for these are to be over the layers for body color body shading and over the outline, this is so that the art won't be changed.***
I will actually give a little leeway and say that some line editing is okay, but I prefer that you PLEASE put it in a new layer! So if you have a great idea with maybe wings or scales or something go for it. But don't mess with the given layers No messing with the hooves! The mane/forelock is not allowed to cover the eyes.
I will give credit to the winner and they may also put their signature on the image where it won't interfere with mine or with the art, please put it on the signature layer.

The winner will be announced sometime between July 31st and August 1st along with the other new artists and the name winner
I will be watching each and every portfolio to see if there's anything I am interested in that might lead me to choose you in some way or another. I don't expect portfolios to be set up and going day one, take your time, make it really nice! I want to see shading and highlighting! Don't rush yourself just to get something out there, I want to see what you've got to offer

to answer a question that i have been asked before about this: whether you are just coloring in or you are creating a mane and tail, you will need to color in at least one of each gender, this way I have more to add to you than just your ability to draw, i need to to see your ability to color in my lines with and for me
