What Is A Veneer? wrote:Veneer are a deer/wolf hybrid that mostly live in the wilds of the forest. They are typically a very gentle creature, but every so often there are ones that are...not so gentle to say the least. However, every so often a human attracts their attention and they can become tamed and domesticated. It has to be something the Veneer wants though, otherwise the connection between the master and beast will not be made and the Veneer will become an evil version of itself. The reason this bond does not occur often is because Veneer have the inexplicable ability to blend in with those that surround them. Over time they have learned to hide their true forms in front of humans. However, they do not change forms! Their only true form is that of the deer/wolf hybrid, and the image that they create to help themselves blend in is a mere psychic image that they project to trick the human's brains. It is called a glamour and Veneer can see through other Veneer's glamour once they have matured. (When they are younger, they are not very good at projecting their own image yet, let alone looking though others').
