Lilly Chase's POV
I then realize I'm blushing madly, across the nose and cheeks like I do when I become over-heated, or bashful. I shake my head to get that thought from my mind, but can't ignore the fact that my heart rate probably rose and heated the water to boiling.
I don't think of it much when I realize the Shadow has been reduced to a puddle of boiling goo. It seeps into the cement and is gone.
We are silent, and then the pain in my ankle sinks back in, and it stings like fury. I realize I've yelped, and Thalia asks if I'm okay.
"Ah, ow. Not really." I say. Hestia suggests we go to sleep, and Tallis points to an abandoned library. At least, it looks pretty abandoned. Then Tallis has one of my arms and Thalia has the other, and Hestia props open the door for us as they help me in. The place is a little creepy, with torn and burnt and yellowed books strewn around and cobwebs connecting different shelves.
Luckily, there are two couches and a bunch of cushiony pillows sitting on the floor, no matter how musty they are, and Tallis and Thalia lay me down carefully on one of the couches.
"Thanks." I say. Then Thalia does the weird healing thing she did on Tallis to my ankle, and the gaping bloody shred-bite-marks are reduced to wide scars. She lays down on the larger couch with Hestia, since she's pretty small, and they both fall asleep.
Tallis arranges some pillow-cushions in a somewhat comfortable manner, and lays down. "Night." He says, tiredly.
"Night." I reply. And then I drift off to sleep.
