THE LOST RIDERS - #87

Postby AirAngel » Wed Jun 04, 2014 11:18 am

Unlike many adoptables, this species isn't a "quick adopt, get a whole bunch" kind. Each one is unique and special. Each has its own story, history, and future. You, as a potential owner, will not only adopt it, but actually own it.

Keep in mind--Tribesman and women wear armor or leather garments, not casual clothes like hoodies or jeans.
They also do not have very modern-like objects, like glasses, hats, etc.

This skeleton-like Bernikesaur seems very cold and unforgiving.

Is this the one for you? Are you up for its capture?

Extras and pretty forms are allowed and encouraged. Extras include pictures, stories, personality, ect.

(Meh. My art is terrible, I don't have any skills so just pay attention to the effort XD))
(Also my coding is awful. Apologies. ))

Owner: Toxic Nightshade
Name: The Bony Death Beast. His nickname is Beastie.
Personality: Beastie seems cold and calculating. He acts unsympathetic and uncaring, and seems to hate everyone. He is very strong and fast. He can swim very well. Anything meat is his favourite to eat, he'll eat anything. He is very bold and outgoing, and rough and tough. He seems filled with hatred for the world and like he wants to destroy it. Dig deeper. If you really get past his harsh and cruel ways, you will see that he is a sweet tempered and loving dinosaur. He is kind and giving on the inside, and warm and welcoming. He is intelligent, and amazing with strategies, especially for battles. He will die to protect his friends and the ones he loves, and will go against all odds to save them. You will only see this side of him if you are his rider, mate, really close kin, or really great friends who have stuck around for a long time with his bad side. Get past his pity less outside nature, and you'll find that he actually really wants a mate.
Rider:
Name: Kira Lantos Fasi
Gender: Female
Eyes: A dark, mysterious blue.
Hair: Straight, tussled blonde hair that has natural ash colored streaks in it.
Height: 6'3", she is very tall.
She is very thin and wiry, but strong. She is cunning, and built for speed, as her long legs, great lungs, and goods durance and stamina allow her to travel long distances and keep up a very fast pace. She knows how to fight well, and is very good with dinosaurs. She also loves to trick people in battle, such as, using her left hand with her weapon but flicking it over to her right hand and jabbing, she is right handed. She is actually a very attractive person, with long black eyelashes. She is a natural born leader and handles stress and certain situations well. She is cunning and intelligent, and amazing with a whip. She uses it beautifully and even her enemies don't mind the pain as much because she makes designs in the ground and air, killing them at the same time. She can seem cold and calculating, but she has a warm heart. Hopefully someone doesn't chill it, or we're in trouble.

Tribe: Mat'huen
Theme Song:
Demons- by Imagine Dragons.

Short story about your rider first seeing this Bernikesaur:
Narrated by rider:

I woke up to the pleasant sound of screaming outside my cave. I yawned and stretched. Hey, whoever it was, they were from out tribe, so they can take care of themselves. Oh, unless it was Mia. If it was Mia she would die. Oh well. Hey don't judge me. Fine, I'll help.
I ran outside after putting my armour skirt on and a chest plate. Yes, I had boots on too. My long hair flew in the wind as I raced for a weapon to protect me from the beautiful animal. I grabbed my whip and ran toward the screaming. I didn't have to go far. Yup, just as I suspected, Mia was in trouble again, but what caught my gaze was not her being attacked, it was the thing attacking. Huge lava red eyes, against unique markings that looked like a skeleton. It let out a marvellous roar, and to me it felt like the earth was shaking. Wow. Now I know what it feels like to be in love. I ran at the dinosaur and shoved Mia out of the way as the dino's teeth clashed together. The beast roared with fury and pain as its teeth rattled and about two shattered. I was awestruck. Such power, beauty, and fear, and I wanted it all.

Image

I cracked my whip loudly and he glared at me, more with annoyance than threat or fear.
He charged me. Quick and nimble, I jumped to his side and cracked the whip again, but I didn't touch him because I did NOT want to hurt my future mount, or so I hoped he would be. He tilted his head.
'Why aren't you dying,' he seemed to be asking.
I laughed. Cute expression on a freaky dino. I did not see this one coming. His tail strong, bone-like tail whipped around from the back of him and tripped me.
"Ow," I said, face-planting into the wet ground. I heard it roar again, then felt its weight making the ground shudder slightly when he ran west. When I got up, the dinosaur of my dreams was gone, and probably not coming back. I threw down my whip in frustration. Why couldn't I tame a stupid dino! Why was it so hard? Was there something special that you had to do? I decided I really don't like these 'rites of passage'.

The next morning I woke up, weary. I got out of bed and grabbed my fishing pole. It was just a piece of long strong that I the around my hand tight. I pull in a fish when I need to. You might think this is too tricky and slippery and would hurt, the way the thin string would tighten against my hand and cut me a little, but I had been doing this for a long time. I was strong and almost had no feeling in my hands, and I was great at it. At the end of the string their was a curved, sharp piece of metal with a bird on it to use for bait. I felt a faint tug and braced myself. The slight tug turned into a thrashing. I pulled him in and killed him. It was a quick, painless death. I hated suffering and hurting things unnecessarily so I killed it quickly. We need to eat and feed ourselves and our dinosaurs, so what else would I do? We might be able to be vegetarians, but our dinos can't. This is life. That's why I end the fish's suffering soon, because I admire fish and think they're amazing creatures. I'm not weird, I just think they're cool. I caught three others and went back to my cave. I put the fish in a sack with a chunk of ice so they would stay cool, put a hunk of cheese in there and put on my thin cool armour. This armour was lightweight so it would be too heavy. I'm strong, so really it doesn't make a difference between light armour and heavy armour, but my relatives worry too much. I grabbed my whip and went off in search of another cool dino.
I saw some dino tracks leading west. It had been running from something. The feet were not to very deep into the damp, earth and they were spaced apart with much distance. (Don't worry I'm not copying I actually learned this in school last year)). It had rained only a half an hour ago and the tracks were fairly visible so I knew they were fresh. The footprints were larger than the others I've seen, but I like big ones. The last attempt to train a dinosaur didn't work, so hopefully this one would. I spotted some young folk, girls and boys, round the corner. Mat'iri. Great. I dove into the bushes. They were laughing and giggling. They were probably getting their rite of passage as well. I held my breath, hoping they wouldn't come this way.
"Did you see that?" A girl cried out, her voice sounded hoarse. She'd probably been yelling at her comrades for rope to tame dinosaurs with.
"Yeah, I also saw a black cape. Get her!" A strong voice commanded.
He was obviously in charge, because when he said that, I heard whoops and excited hollering and feet crashing through the bush. A man came at me and swung his sword. I threw my whip in a circle around my head, and lashed out with it. It wrapped around the hilt of the sword and I pulled up. The sword flew right put of his hand. I jumped like I had wings and caught it in midair. Ha, just got a new weapon. It was a nice blade, probably earned it. Oh well, too bad for him. He looked at me, obviously frightened, and ran away. Once he was gone I hid in some bracken and put the whip away. I had hoped to hide, but a girl, the one who had spoken, poked her head around, two feet away from me and holding a dagger. I reached for my new sword. Dang. I saw it in front of the girl.
"Here!" She shouted, snarling and pointing her dagger at me.
I jumped out like a rabbit and punched her in the nose, and haired away as she screamed in agony, and on the way she rammed into a tree.
"Tree Hugger," I said, laughing and pointing.
I grinned and pulled out my whip while I ran.
"Can't catch me you lazy- OOF!!!" I tripped over something big as I ran for my dear life.
Opening my eyes, I was looking at a long, sharp sword that was curved like a scythe, only it was a little straighter. Its gleaming surface was beautiful. I saw many others, attached to thick, jet black scales that belonged to a fearsome creature. I should've grabbed the blade from the forest floor.
"NOT, DEFINITELY NOT, a scythe," I yelled as I finally got the courage to look up. Huge red eyes glared down at me like little boiling angry pools of hot lava. A roar erupted from the beast's mouth, which was filled with razor sharp teeth, ready to crunch, slash, and tear. "Hey Beastie," I croaked, my courage running away from my side like a chicken with its head cut off. It breathed into my face, and I could feel and smell its terrible, hot, ranking breath slithering down my face and my sweaty armour. Saliva dripped down onto my back.
I felt a strong emotion racing through my veins. Fear. My heart beat quickened and the thought of dying spread like wildfire in my mind. The ways it could kill me were all terrible, some to terrible to name. I had never felt this, fear, before. It worried me and made me even more terrified. I could feel its breath, cooling me down, chilling me to the bone. I just wanted to get out of here. To leave. But if I made a move you might as well just run me over and call me dinner. It'd be certain death. I left all my weapons except the whip, but that was in my boot and the slightest movement could trigger its prey drive. I could call out, but when the people appeared it would either kill them all, and I loved my tribe I would be filled with sorrow if they died, or it would eat me. Bad case scenario. If I called out it would most likely eat me anyway. The worst case scenario would be it torturing me. Berkinosaurs are smart. They know a lot, and probably know what torture is. I felt sweat trickle down my body. I was afraid for once, afraid to die. I laid still, hoping it would just go away. Fear was radiating off me like crazy. I was sure he could smell it and sense my discomfort and fright. I squeezed my eyes shut, preparing for the worst.

Image

It didn't come. The girl looking for revenge from me for giving her a bloody nose, came around the corner and got something much worse.
She saw me,"You little-" She never finished. After gulping her down with one bite, the stunning reptile turned his evil eyes on me. I gave a shout, I had never in my life see someone eaten before. It was downright horrifying. I ran. He followed. I reached the main part if my tribe, where everyone was mainly at.
"Hold your ground!!" I yelled as the dinosaur came crashing through a boulder. People were scared. They screamed. But they picked up their weapons and were ready to defend.
"Drop your weapons!" I yelled, my voice ringing out for all to hear.
They looked at me, unsurely and uneasily, but they dropped their weapons because they respected and trusted me. They believed that I would help them. Trust me, they still had faith in hemselves, but usually we have a plan. Not this time. Great. Such an exciting turn of events and I just HAVE to be eaten before I tell the story. Life is a funny place.
'Please don't hurt us,' was my only desperate thought, as Bony roared its glorious roar and shook its maleficent head. I would have to lure it into the pen with nothing but a whip against its ferocious, shredding teeth.

Image

You shall see the rest if young Kira is the lucky winner ;), so I'll continue it in basic training part one.

Props to you two for making this the hardest decision I've had to make so far in this species xD Like, seriously. You guys were matching left and right, until I was like, Oh my god. How am I going to choose? However... I finally managed to decide. And this skeletal fellow goes to...

Toxic Nightshade!

Congrats, I look forward to your training ^^
