Sort of based on tribal markings. I went with all brownish colors for a more natural vibe. I kind of wanted it to feel. . . like they could blend in with their surroundings, which is why the design is simpler and doesn't vary much in color.
Originally, the eyes and paw pads were a pale mint green, and that added a splash of color, but I went with the gold instead because it fit more with the rest of the design.
