✩~Name of this Inkling Kirbylover's Notes wrote:I have chosen to name this Inkling Jade, mostly due to her colors. She seems to accept it, and wear it proudly as her identity.
Memory- Naming wrote:Blinking, the Inkling looked up from her delicate work with a small frown. The ink had all the right colors, but there wasn't any designs she could see that stood out. That's odd.She thought, glancing around the area. Just as she decided she would use small swirling patterns, a pale face with greenish-blue eyes behind two reddish circles connected by a band with a clear glass in their frames. and long, brownish-blond head fur peeked out from the wall.
"Hello?" It called, looking around anxiously. What is that? The Inkling wondered, her idea forgotten. The face turned to look at the green Inkling.
"Oh, hi there! What are you doing here? I came into this place thinking no one else was here." The face said, and the being stepped out from behind to reveal a tall body, dressed in a green shirt and dark blue pants, along with white shoes. Small gold stripes twisted on the shoes' strings, and a small circle of black thread with a blue bead looped into it rested on the neck of the visitor. How colorful. Four colors are so much more than my green. She thought, intrigued.
"Are you alone?" The colorful visitor asked.
The Inkling frowned, then inclined her head slightly. This creature is even more curious than I, she thought. The creature began to talk again, its blue eyes twinkling.
"Is there anyone else here? If not... well, I guess I could leave. Would you be interested in becoming my partner?"
The Inkling stared blankly at the creature.
"You could be... Jade. Does that sound like a nice name? Jade?
Jade... The Inkling thought about this. Yes, that does sound like a nice name. Jade. Her ears drooped as she started to get up, looking at her ink. As much as she wanted to see the outside and beyond, she couldn't leave behind her precious batch of ink.
"Is that... ink? You can start a new project at my place. There's lots of ink there!" The being said cheerfully.
At this, Jade's ears perked up. A small smile on her face, the Inkling plodded over to the creature.
"We'll be friends together, Jade." It whispered to its new companion.
Friends... that sounds nice, too. What is a friend? Jade wondered, walking along with her new host through the mostly monochromatic factory. Perhaps this creature can teach me. She decided, content with her thoughts.
✩~Owner Information
Kirbylover's Notes wrote:Jade seemed stunned when I told her about myself. Does she has a deep story as well, perhaps?
Memory- Owner Intro wrote:As the duo walked about the factory, Jade looked up at her new companion expectantly. It seemed unlikely she'd understand what she was trying to communicate, but it might do her some good to familiarize herself with her new partner.
"Well, I guess I should tell you about myself. We can't be strangers forever, right?" The creature chuckled. "I'm Kirbylover901. I've roamed the world of adoptables for a year or two, but I've never gotten to see a creature like yourself. I'm a human, by the way. What's your species? I haven't gotten an inkling of what it could be..."
At the word inkling, Jade's head perked up. The human's eyes opened wide.
"An Inkling? That's what you're called? Interesting. I guess that makes sense, seeing you were with some ink earlier. Anyway, I'm an artist, writer, and gamer, although most of my time is spend on creating pieces of digital artwork. My nickname around these parts is Kirby or Kirbylover, and that's probably easier than Kirbylover901. In my free time, I enjoy reading and, or course, drawing and designing things." Kirby lover added.
Impressive. Jade thought, in awe of how much information the human could provide and how many unfamiliar words she knew. Blinking, she mustered her courage to say something.
"I've worked at this factory for a long time." She paused. "How have no humans come to see me?"
Kirbylover looked thoughtfully at Jade. "I guess it's because of your location, Jade. I hadn't visited this place before now. I never knew it existed!" She said, chuckling.
"You never knew..." Jade repeated quietly. "Then how have I been here all my life, with no contact from others of your kind?" She was somewhat confused at this, for even though she had lived here for a long time, Jade hadn't seen any other humans around the factory, although she had been hearing odd sounds.
"Perhaps they don't know this place exists." Kirbylover replied. "Too bad; this is a remarkable realm of creatures and ink.
"Not knowing..." Jade echoed, wondering how her home hadn't been discovered. It's sort of similar to me not knowing of the outside world, She thought to herself, focusing once more on navigating the factory.
✩~Diet Kirbylover's Notes wrote:Jade appears to like colorful food items, like smoothies, ice cream and apples. Blandly colored foods... not so much. Hopefully she'll find a non-colorful food she enjoys eventually.
Memory-Food wrote:Jade heard her stomach rumble as she and Kirbylover exited the factory.
"I'm hungry." Jade stated, looking at the puffy, white objects floating along in a stretch of color.
"Well, what would you like then?" The human responded, looking up at the objects as well. "Ooh, that cloud looks like a blackberry! Would you like some blackberries later?"
Jade thought about this. Black is a plain color. She thought, shaking her head.
"Hm... maybe a dragon fruit then? Dragon fruit is pinkish yellow on the outside, and has white, red or yellow flesh with small black speckles inside. It's very colorful." Kirby said.
"Colorful? Colorful foods are good." Jade replied. "What other colorful foods are there?"
"There are lots of colorful foods, like cupcakes- which consist of sweetened dough packed into a muffin shape with a swirl called icing on top- starfruit, which can have three colors, watermelon, which has four colors, rainbow kale, which has lots of colors..." Jade's companion trailed off, thinking. "There's also ice cream, which can have different colors depending on which flavor it has, and cake, which is like a cupcake, but a lot bigger, and shaped into a wedge. And the drinks! You can make smoothies with ice cream and fruit, and-"
"Hold on." Jade interrupted. "I think ice cream, rainbow kale, dragon fruit, watermelon and some cake sound good right now."
"Okay! You can have whatever you want when we get home- except the cake. I ran out yesterday." Kirbylover added sadly. Jade's ears drooped, disappointed. Seeing the sad facial expression, the human cheerfully added, "We can buy some later, never mind that the cake's out."
"You know a lot of foods. Could I try them all eventually? Especially the colorful ones." Jade asked curiously.
"Of course!" Kirbylover's stomach rumbled. "But we'll do that later. All this talk of food is making me hungry!" She added, laughing. Jade joined in, curiosity quenched for the moment.
✩~Backstory
Kirbylover's Notes wrote:Jade has failed to inform me of her deep past. I'd imagine she keeps this to herself.
Distant Memories wrote:This experience will be even better than my distant past. Jade realized, looking around the color-filled area. After I had hatched, ink and my eggshell were all I could think of. Green ink, specifically- which dyed my pelt green. It is a nice pattern and hue. She thought fondly, smiling. Come think of it, I saw a lot of other green Inklings, orange, and purple ones too. I didn't see many other reds, yellows or blue ones, though. Curious. Actually, ink was always there in the factory, on monotonous, boring days, days when my mind burst with ideas, or just normal days. I had a few acquaintances as well, but I wouldn't call them friends. We just saw each other occasionally, not every day. I can't remember what they looked like. Jade frowned at this notion. There weren't any real enemies, either, or I would've remembered them easily. It was a peaceful living, working with ink; it would've been so different if I had left early. The Inkling shook her head. But I am here now. Perhaps it is better to dwell on than present than your past and alternate future. However, there are other things to think about, like comparisons- how beautiful the outside world is compared to the monotonous factory. The colors in the factory were mostly ink, or other Inklings. The Inkling mused. All the Inklings there were filled with colors! It's interesting how many designs can appear on just one color and its shades. Jade paused in her thinking. Life has been good, but this new one will be even more colorful than living in the factory. She concluded, smiling.
