hi ive gone and made a new horse breed because i had a pony similar to this that i'd drawn a while ago
but never did anything with, and i loved how i'd drawn him so i decided id make it a breed but only now
got around to doing at all anything with it
so yup excuse the kinda rough notes because theyre not very logical but here we go

━comes from the shetland islands in scotland
━very fluffy ([very]long-haired)
━ranges in height from 15hh to 17hh
━large ears
━large 'joints'
━small teeth for gnawing on branches with
━mane usually grows in the style of a "mohawk," but can grow a lot longer
━heavy-ish build
━fairly straight but 'flexible' back/backbone
━muscled
━loves to swim, which gave them their name
━people often mistook them for the mythical 'kelpie' as they clambered out of lakes or travelled alongside long-maned/
long-furred horses of the same breed because of their large resemblances to how people perceived a kelpie to be,
despite soon realizing that they were in fact not dangerous at all and people started to nickname them shetland kelpies
because of this.
━they are fairly wild but are tame enough to be fussed, fed and cared for by humans, like you would a normal horse, but
don't tend to let people ride them but have been domesticated to be put into stables and fitted with headcollars, tack or
suchlike
━usually feeds on plantlife near to waters, and grasses, but will sometimes be able to consume small branches (granted they
have leaves on) or even corn in some cases (they're intrusive and nosy as hell so barricade your fields and hide your corn, kids)
