A Peryton is a mythical hybrid of a deer and bird. They are humble, social creatures, capable of understanding simple human speech. They communicate using a wide range of clicks, chirps, and barks. They tend to live and travel in herds of twenty or more. While capable of flight, they are unable to fly for long distances and usually prefer to walk.
Their diet consists of grasses, fruits, and nuts, but some varieties prey on small creatures like mice and lizards. Their coats vary depending on linage and location. Some Peryton go through summer and winter coats.
Most Peryton have antlers, including females, however, several lineages have none. The antlers are often used as a humble display, often decorated with flowers, vines, or scavenged jewlery.
Most Peryton can be adopted by filling out the simple form on their page. Each form will differ slightly in their questions or requirements. Art will never be mandatory, and is sometimes banned on some adopts to help even the planes.
You may win a maximum of one Peryton per week, and up to two a month. However, you're free to apply to as many as you like.
There will always be the rule that says you cannot post completely blank forms on adopts. This is to prevent blank and never completed forms from cluttering up the thread. So make sure to at least fill out the name when posting a form. Depending on how this goes, I may remove/alter this rule.
Once you have two or more Peryton(or have a friend's permission to breed your Peryton with theirs) you may apply for a breeding! Each artist can make their own breedery* where they can post if they are open for breedings or not. You may apply for two breedings per month.
*This artist-individual breedery function was originally used by Deerserts- if you don't want me using this idea, pm me and I will remove it!
