Based off of this pet that I got today from the pound.
Whoopdy-do! Look at me spitting out another piece of art! This time I didn't so something realistic, as it's nice to take a break from realism every once and a while.
So, I had two goals with this piece: To make up my own pose without a reference, and to include/exaggerate a facial emotion. I'm very proud of myself with the pose, just because I usually can't do anything that isn't standing. And as for the facial expression... well, I'm pretty proud of that one, too. I know there aren't any teeth nor is there a tongue in the mouth, but I liked it that way. What do you guys think; did I accomplish my goals?
I really did enjoy the more cartoon-y style. It was fun trying to get the emotion, and it felt easier to draw the position. I'll probably do a few more every now and then.
Yes, background is lazy, but I felt that an actual background would draw away attention from SP (Shattering Pieces, the name of the pet).
I have a few quick questions: 1.) Should I start doing commissions? 2.) Would I last in the Intermediate Oekaki section? 3.) Should I do more realistic or unrealistic work (take a glance at the most recent stuff in my gallery if you haven't seen my more realistic-attempts)?
Comments and Critique are always greatly appreciated! Thank you!
